Cam Skattebo looked like a genuine physical force during the first half of his 2025 rookie season before a dislocated ankle in Week 8 abruptly ended his year. His bruising, downhill style was a blast from the past and Skattebo bulldozed his way to 410 rushing yards and five touchdowns in just eight games. While initial assumptions were that Tyrone Tracy Jr. would be the team's primary passing-down back, Skattebo surpassed expectations, proving surprisingly capable in the passing game, as he hauled in 24 receptions for 207 yards and two additional scores. At 16 fantasy points per game, Skattebo wasn't just a reliable RB2/Flex -- he was a legitimate week-winning RB1 who would've likely regressed but still remained a valuable weekly starter.
The major concerns for Skattebo heading into 2026 are twofold. First, Skattebo's recovery window is still yet to be locked in. Reports are that he should be ready to start the season, but that could be wish-casting as we've seen with so many injuries like this in the past. Additionally, the continued presence of Tyrone Tracy Jr. further clouds this backfield. After losing his job to Skattebo early on, Tracy stepped up in a big way when he got his chance. It's highly likely that head coach Brian Daboll employs a committee approach to manage Skattebo's workload as he works his way back to 100 percent. The Giants' offense should be improved, but navigating a split backfield -- especially one playing behind a sometimes shaky offensive line -- is always a headache for fantasy.

Giants add RB Najee Harris to the mix 11 months removed from Achilles tear By: Mike Krueger | Tue Aug 18, 12:09 pm

| | The #Giants are signing free agent RB Najee Harris to a 1-year deal, per me and @MikeGarafolo, as NYG adds another veteran to their backfield.
Harris’ season with the #Chargers last year was cut short because of an Achilles tear. Now fully healthy, he lands in NY. (Ian Rapoport on X)
FFToday's Take: The Giants are adding to their running back room which already contains Cam Skattebo, Tyrone Tracy Jr. and Devin Singletary. Harris is 11 months removed from a torn Achilles and has ties with former Chargers OC Greg Roman who is now a senior offensive assistant with the Giants. We can pencil in Harris as the RB3 at moment until we get a better understanding of his role in the offense.

| Malik Nabers not expected to start camp on PUP list Recovering from 2025 knee injury By: Mike Krueger | Thu Jul 23, 7:12 pm

| | New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers is not expected to begin training camp on the physically unable to perform list, a source told ESPN. It's a step in the right direction following a serious knee injury last year. Veterans are scheduled to report Tuesday. Coach John Harbaugh said recently on "The Domonique Foxworth Show" that there was "optimism" with Nabers and running back Cam Skattebo. Both suffered season-ending injuries last year. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: This is a good sign for Nabers getting back on the field early in camp but it still remains to be seen if he'll be ready for Week 1. Nabers had a second surgery this off-season for scar tissue removal and the Giants want to ease him back into practice. Nabers is currently hovering around the WR14 range in PPR leagues.
