| Part of a "throw it against the wall and see who sticks" quarterback strategy in Cleveland, Sanders is one of several candidates for the starting gig. After a tumultuous draft, and early season, Sanders finally got an eight-game run to show that he could be the long-term answer for the Browns. After a turnover filled try-out, there remain more questions about his NFL future than answers. He currently lacks the polish and arm talent to be a starter in the league, and doubts about his maturity and leadership still linger. Likely to play quarterback roulette again in 2026, the future QB of the Browns will be coming in the 2027 draft.

|  | Sources say that the decision between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders truly came down to the end. Both showed flashes of what a QB1 in Todd Monken’s offense could look like.
In the end, the decision leaned toward Watson’s experience. But it’s my understanding that he will have to continue earning it once the season starts and the games are for real. Todd Monken has been by his side the entire time. (Jordan Schultz on X)
FFToday's Take: The Browns will begin the season with Watson as their starting quarterback. At some point, they'll likely turn to Sanders on their way to a dismal season record. Both quarterbacks will be low-end QB2 options whenever they start with most of their fantasy appeal coming in 2QB or Superflex leagues.
