When you glance at Jeanty's totals for his rookie year -- 1,321 total yards, 10 TDs -- they look fairly respectable, especially on a porous Raiders team. Dig a little deeper, however, and you see how much of that came from two big games: a 155-yard, 3-TD effort versus Chicago in Week 4, and a 188-yard, 2-TD showing against the Texans in Week 16. Across his other 15 games, Jeanty averaged 65.2 yards with five total touchdowns. Given that he was typically drafted as an RB1 amid high expectations, Jeanty was a clear disappointment most weeks.
It wasn't all bad news. Jeanty was a workhorse, and his 321 touches ranked sixth in the NFL. He started all 17 games as well, and backups Raheem Mostert, Dylan Laube, and Zamir White tallied 60 touches combined. Granted, that happened on Pete Carroll's watch, and Kubiak's offense in Seattle split work between Kenneth Walker and Zach Charbonnet, but a look at Las Vegas' depth chart suggests we'll continue to see Jeanty log the majority of the snaps.
Despite a middling debut, Jeanty is again well positioned for fantasy owners. He's a tough runner that can break tackles and make plays, and he's a three-down option that could catch a lot of check downs from a rookie quarterback that will be trying to avoid mistakes. Jeanty offers midrange RB1 upside and should be a late first- or early second-round selection in most leagues.

Ashton Jeanty ready to go for Week 1 Full practice all week By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 11, 3:20 pm

| | #Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty says he feels “really good” and is ready for Sunday’s opener after being sidelined since Aug. 23 with a sprained ankle.
“When I popped up, I had a sigh of relief. I knew it wasn’t anything too bad.” (Taylor Rocha on X)
FFToday's Take: Jeanty got in full practices all week and seems ready to go against the Dolphins. This Sunday will mark three weeks from his ankle scare in practice. The matchup is good and we should expect a full workload, making him a low-end RB1 in Week 1.

| Ashton Jeanty's ankle injury healing well? GM tells reporters RB's ankle is in "good spot" By: Doug Orth | Tue Sep 1, 9:00 pm

| | Raiders GM Spytek said RB Ashton Jeanty is in a "good spot" after sustaining an ankle injury.
"I expect him to be back as quick he can, maybe quicker than some people would expect. When that is, we'll see." (ESPN - Ryan McFadden)
FFToday's Take: From a prayer circle to being in a good spot. Football comes at you fast, doesn't it? In all seriousness, fantasy managers should treat Jeanty as questionable for Week 1 until the team or a national source like ESPN's Adam Schefter provides an update. The good news is that managers should expect Jeanty to be up to speed at some point early in the season. The bad news is that Mike Washington Jr. proved himself enough to convince the coaching staff to make him more than just a true backup to Jeanty.

| Sprained ankle for RB Ashton Jeanty No timeline yet for his return By: Mike Krueger | Sun Aug 23, 10:57 pm

| | Raiders RB Ashton Jeanty, who had to be helped off the practice field today, is believed to have sprained his ankle, sources tell
@rapsheet and me. The Raiders still are unsure how long he will be out, but it is not considered a long-term injury and the organization is breathing a sigh of relief tonight. Raiders declined comment on Jeanty’s injury. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: We should get clarification in the coming days on the severity of Jeanty's ankle sprain. A high ankle sprain would carry a longer recovery time and knock his ADP down significantly. Mike Washington Jr. should begin to rise up the rankings, but any long-term absence from Jeanty would likely mean a veteran signing or trade at the position for Raiders.
