Injuries to Hampton and Harris pressed Vidal into extended action in 2025, and the former sixth-rounder ended up leading the team in rushing with 155 carries, 643 yards, and 3 TDs. While it was a mostly solid effort overall, his week-to-week performances were all over the map -- he logged four games with 95 rushing yards or more but had less than 35 yards eight times -- and he was a nonfactor in the passing game, catching just 16 passes for 136 yards.
Los Angeles also signed Keaton Mitchell, who posted a gaudy 6.3 yards per carry during his time with the Ravens but was limited to 26 games over three seasons due to injury. Considering how much money the Chargers handed Mitchell, it's clear they want him to fill a role, but it's hard to envision him as more than a change-of-pace back. I'm not sure that would change if Hampton missed time, either. Mitchell is considerably smaller than Hampton or Vidal, which, when combined with durability concerns, makes Vidal the more likely handcuff option for Hampton owners.

FFToday's Take: These kind of quotes will get some buzz but Hampton is still the favorite to see the majority of touches for the Chargers this season. It's also a reminder that Vidal should not be forgotten by fantasy owners. He would likely have a decent role (early downs) in the offense if Hampton went down with an injury.
