Trade: Commanders are trading RB Brian Robinson Jr. to the 49ers in exchange for a 2026 sixth-round pick, sources tell ESPN. (Adam Schefter on X) FFToday's Take: We knew Robinson was on the trading block and now know the landing spot. Pending a physical, Robinson will be the new backup for Christian McCaffrey. The 49ers are dealing with multiple injuries to their wide receiver room so it won't be a surprise if they lean on the running game early in the season. This move isn't great for Isaac Guerendo's value as a contingency stash. The Commanders still have Austin Ekeler, Jacory Croskey-Merritt, and Chris Rodriguez Jr. and Jeremy McNichols on their depth chart.

Austin Ekeler, Chris Rodriguez Jr. and Jeremy McNichols are also on the roster meaning, somebody will likely be cut or traded before rosters are trimmed to 53. JCM's fantasy stock will be on the rise in the meantime.
