Charbonnet (knee) tore his ACL during the team's Divisional Round dismantling of the 49ers, and he underwent surgery in February. He's all but certain to open the 2026 season on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list and may not return to action until October or November. Even then, it's likely the team will ease the UCLA product back into the mix with a long-term goal of splitting the backfield duties between him and Price -- Emanuel Wilson would likely slide into the No. 3 role when everyone is healthy and available.
With no clear return date, it's tough to value Charbonnet. He did little as a rookie in 2023 but grew into his 1a/1b split with Kenneth Walker over the last two seasons. In 2024, he racked up 909 yards and 9 TDs. Last year, Charbonnet set career highs with 730 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns, though his involvement in the passing game cratered with just 20 receptions and 144 receiving yards. Whenever he does return, Charbonnet should be motivated to prove he's healthy and ready to contribute as he's set to become a free agent after the season. If you can snap up Charbonnet as your RB4 or RB5 and stash him in an IR slot it could pay dividends in the later months.

Seattle HC talks up Jadarian Price Beat writer predicts "heavy dose" of George Holani By: Doug Orth | Mon Aug 31, 11:55 pm

| | Rookie Jadarian Price is ready to lead the Seattle Seahawks' backfield while it waits for Zach Charbonnet to return. Or at least as ready as he can be. Except for the week he missed with a minor injury, Price has had a strong summer, displaying the vision, decisiveness and athleticism that made him the Seahawks' choice with the 32nd pick in April's draft. He has looked as good as advertised -- and in some ways better.
"He's done a great job. He really has -- all three downs," coach Mike Macdonald said last week. "He's a rookie in terms of, there's going to be things that we're going to attack in his game that will show itself in games. We haven't been afforded the luxury of having the bodies right now at running back to give him the reps in a [preseason] game that we would normally give to a rookie runner."
The best guess is that the Seahawks are planning, for now, to roll with Price as their lead back while mixing in a heavy dose of George Holani, whose receiving and pass-blocking skills seem perfectly suited for third-down work.
(ESPN.com - Brady Henderson)
FFToday's Take: There is something off about this situation, if only because coaches talk about the importance of reps for rookies and still end up questioning if it was enough. Could Macdonald have seen enough from Price in practice? Unlikely. Fantasy managers should expect Price to lead this backfield while Charbonnet is away, but they need to understand what Henderson is saying about Holani's likely role - which is some of the most important work for a running back from a fantasy perspective. It would be shocking if Seattle asked Price to protect Sam Darnold's blind side without actually proving he can in a game. As such, expect to see a lot of Holani in September.

| Zach Charbonnet placed on PUP list to start the season Will miss at least the first four games By: Mike Krueger | Sun Aug 30, 6:53 pm

| | The Seahawks just announced the moves they made today to trim their roster to 53. A couple things of note: RB Zach Charbonnet will begin the season on PUP, meaning he has to miss at least the first four games. S Nick Emmanwori is on the 53. (Brady Henderson on X)
FFToday's Take: Charbonnet will miss at least the first four games of the season as he recovers from an ACL injury. We're expecting rookie Jadarian Price and George Holani to get most of the running back work Week 1 against the Patriots with Emanuel Wilson serving as the No.3 back.

| Seattle places RB Zach Charbonnet on PUP list, knee Recovering from off-season knee surgery By: Mike Krueger | Wed Jul 22, 12:47 pm

| | Seahawks placed RB Zach Charbonnet on the physically unable to perform list as he continues to make his way back from offseason knee surgery. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: We knew this was coming for Charbonnet who injured his knee in mid-January. He's expected to miss camp and likely at least the first four regular season games and potentially return late in the season. In the meantime rookie Jadarian Price, George Holani and Emanuel Wilson are expected to get the work at running back with Price being biggest fantasy asset of the bunch.

| Seattle currently stuck in RBBC approach Jadarian Price not expected to be a high-volume starter By: Mike Krueger | Mon Jun 29, 7:00 am

| | They did not draft Jadarian Price with the thought that he'd become a high-volume starter right away. He will share time with Holani and Emanuel Wilson as Seattle waits for Zach Charbonnet to return. One question with Price is his ability to contribute in the passing game after he finished his college career with only 15 receptions. He looked plenty capable as a pass catcher during the spring. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: Interesting notes on Price from long-time Seahawks beat reporter Brady Henderson. The Seahawks running back room is shaping up to be a headache for fantasy owners as we look forward to training camp. We could see a true committee approach (Price, George Holani, Wilson) to start the season while Charbonnet rehabs from an Achilles injury. Hopefully we'll get more clarity during training camp.
