If you drafted Breece Hall in 2025, you probably spent the first half of the season wondering if your "stud" running back was ever going to touch an end zone again. He looked slow early on and the Jets weren't giving him the ball enough near the end zone. Then Hall suddenly exploded with a huge game in Week 8 before delivering a string of solid performances. Unfortunately, just as managers started to trust him again, he fell off (alongside the rest of the Jets' offense) down the stretch.
To be fair, one of the main roadblocks to unlocking Hall's ceiling was Justin Fields stealing high-value rushes inside the five-yard line as he stole three rushing touchdowns in the first three weeks of the season alone. That headache now vanishes with Geno Smith -- a much less-mobile QB -- running the offense. Hall has a decent path touchdown volume and he's nearly a lock to significantly outperform his 2025 self in that category as long as he remains healthy.
Don't trick yourself into expecting a full snap share though. Braelon Allen is too good of a short-yardage hammer to keep on the sidelines, and he will definitely steal some short scores. Where Hall separates himself, though, is through the air. Unlike Fields who preferred to take off and run, Smith relies heavily on his checkdowns when downfield options are covered, giving Hall a strong floor in PPR leagues. He has the elite vision and agility to convert a simple dump-off into a massive explosive play, making him a high-end RB2 and one that you could feel decent about being your RB1 if you go WR-heavy early on. Hall's targets alone nearly guarantee he won't bust, and the lack of a running quarterback makes his touchdown upside interesting.

Breece Hall seems good to go for Week 1 Groin injury By: Mike Krueger | Thu Sep 10, 2:53 pm

| | Breece Hall, who missed a couple of weeks with a strained groin, says he’s good to go and can handle a full workload, if necessary. Says the injury provided “a good little vacation,” adding he feels fresh from the time off. #Jets (Rich Cimini on X)
FFToday's Take: "Can handled a full workload" and "will handle a full workload" are different things. However, it's good to hear Breece feels confident in his health heading into Week 1. We'll likely see a good chunk of Braelon Allen as well, but Hall should approach the 20-touch mark in a decent spot against the Titans.
