Javonte Williams capitalized big time on his one-year deal with Dallas. He racked up a career-high 1,201 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 252 carries over 16 games, showing his pre-injury burst is finally back. The Cowboys locked him up with a three-year, $24 million contract in February and the team did not spend other significant assets on the position during the offseason, solidifying Williams as the clear lead back in a high-scoring offense for 2026.
Williams' passing game involvement dropped to just 35 receptions last year after averaging about 50 receptions over his previous two seasons in Denver, but he owns the goal-line work. The depth chart behind him is thin, with Jaydon Blue and Malik Davis merely occupying change-of-pace roles. Williams will get the high-value touches, making him a rock-solid RB2 in the third or fourth round with low-end RB1 upside if the touchdowns continue to stack up like they did in 2026.

FFToday's Take: We're two games into the 2026 season and the injuries continue to pile up. This time it's Cowboys running back Malik Davis. No official word, but it sounds like something that could keep him out awhile. After cutting Jaydon Blue (PHI) and Phil Mafah, Dallas is left with Emari Demercado and FB Hunter Luepke behind starter Javonte Williams. Israel Abanikanda can also be called up from the practice squad.
