John Wolford ruled out, Jared Goff to start Thumb injury for Goff By: Mike Krueger | Thu Jan 14, 2:40 pm

Rams QB John Wolford has been ruled out for Saturday, per Sean McVay, but will still travel with the team. So Jared Goff will start against Green Bay, backed up by Blake Bortles. (Jourdan Rodrigue on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Wolford suffered a neck injury in the Rams wildcard game against the Seahawks. Goff (thumb) is most definitely going to be less than 100 percent against the Packers but could a serviceable fantasy QB if the Rams get behind early.

Rams optimistic Cooper Kupp will play Bursitis in his knee By: Mike Krueger | Mon Jan 11, 7:00 am

| |
Defensive tackle Aaron Donald has a rib injury, wide receiver Cooper Kupp has bursitis in his knee, quarterback John Wolford has a stinger and quarterback Jared Goff is continuing to recover from thumb surgery that he underwent on Dec. 28. Rams coach Sean McVay expressed optimism Sunday evening that Donald and Kupp can return for next Saturday's contest, but the quarterback situation remains unclear. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: McVay isn't likely to name a starting quarterback anytime soon but the smart money is on Goff getting the start after he stepped in for the injured Wolford in the first quarter of the Rams Wildcard game against the Seahawks. McVay did acknowledge that Goff's thumb injury did hamper the QBs play. Kupp will likely be limited in practice this week but should suit up.

Cooper Kupp expected to practice Wednesday COVID-19 list By: Mike Krueger | Tue Jan 5, 6:11 pm

| |
Sean McVay confirms both would be back this week, with Cooper Kupp returning tomorrow. Brockers can come back a little later in the week provided both continue to be asymptomatic. (Jourdan Rodrigue on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Kupp missed Week 17 after being placed on the COVID-19 list. It's still unclear who the Rams quarterback will be this week against the Seahawks. Jared Goff (thumb) is expected to get some practice time in this week. John Wolford had a mediocre showing in Week 17 (22-38, 231-0-1; 6-56) against the Cardinals.

Cooper Kupp out for Week 17 COVID-19 list By: Mike Krueger | Wed Dec 30, 11:40 am

| |
#Rams WR Cooper Kupp was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list because of a positive test and he’s out for Sunday, source said. So, no Jared Goff and no Cooper Kupp vs. the #AZCardinals. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: The Rams still need a win to clinch a playoff birth but will now be down Jared Goff, Darrell Henderson and Cooper Kupp. John Wolford will be starting at QB and will have Robert Woods and Josh Reynolds as his main weapons outside. Malcolm Brown should see the bulk of the work at running back unless Cam Akers is able to make a return from his sprained ankle.

Jared Goff undergoes thumb surgery Unlikely to play Week 17 By: Doug Orth | Mon Dec 28, 7:25 pm

| |
Rams’ QB Jared Goff underwent surgery today on his broken right thumb in LA and is unlikely to play Sunday vs. Arizona, sources tell ESPN. If he can’t play Sunday, Goff could return for the playoffs if Rams advance there. John Wolford is Goff’s backup and now in line to start. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)
FFToday's Take: Goff hasn't struggled for long stretches of this season, so it's hard to imagine he'd be overly effective in the off chance he plays in Week 17. Even if he is cleared in time for a potential playoff - which is not a given for the Rams - it's hard to be overly excited about Cooper Kupp or Robert Woods either. Wolford enjoyed success in the AAF last year but obviously needs to be viewed as a downgrade until he proves otherwise.

Jared Goff's status uncertain for Week 17 Surgery on broken thumb likely at some point By: Mike Krueger | Mon Dec 28, 9:54 am

| |
From @GMFB: The status of #Rams QB Jared Goff is in doubt because of a broken and dislocated thumb... but he's still hoping to play. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Goff played through a broken thumb during the 4th quarter of the Rams' loss to Seattle. If he can't go this week we could get a start from backup John Wolford who has yet to appear in an NFL game.
