Few people were talking about Darnell Mooney this time last season. After four pedestrian seasons in Chicago, Mooney entered the 2025 draft season as WR2 in Atlanta with little buzz about his prospects. Well, he finished the season with career highs across the board in targets (106), receptions (64), receiving yards (992), and receiving TDs (5). Those are solid numbers for what many consider a low-end WR3/high-end WR4.
To be sure, QB Michael Penix Jr. has the arm to utilize Mooney as the deep threat of the team. He led the Falcons in yards per catch with 15.5, and that should repeat in 2025. And since he has solidified his role on the Falcons as a WR2, he is well positioned to pick up where he left off in 2024. Target Mooney somewhere in the low double-digit rounds, and you may have yourself a solid contributor all year long.

Drake London nursing right shoulder injury Considered day-to-day after leaving late in Week 1 By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 8, 11:50 pm

| | #Falcons WR Drake London suffered a shoulder sprain and is considered day-to-day as of now, source said. He’ll have more tests, but initial good news on Atlanta’s star who was ruled out earlier today. (NFL Network - Ian Rapoport)
FFToday's Take: Some initial speculation suggests he is dealing with an AC joint sprain. Fantasy managers should probably expect London to miss at least one game, although it seems to be minor enough to keep the door open for him against the Vikings on Sunday Night Football in Week 2. The Falcons are up against it in terms of injuries at receiver, as Darnell Mooney (shoulder) missed the opener. There is a possibility Atlanta goes into Minnesota with Kyle Pitts, KhaDarel Hodge and Ray-Ray McClooud as Michael Penix Jr's top three pass-catchers (outside of Bijan Robinson).

| Darnell Mooney Inactive for Week 1 Shoulder injury By: Mike Krueger | Sun Sep 7, 11:31 am

| | Falcons WR Darnell Mooney is inactive today. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: Mooney has been nursing a shoulder injury during camp so it's no surprise that he's going to miss this week. He did warm up before the game so it seems like he's close to returning to action... perhaps in Week 2? Drake London should see a 30 percent target share today against the Bucs.

| Darnell Mooney out a few weeks with shoulder injury Falcons starting receiver By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jul 25, 9:24 pm

| | #Falcons WR Darnell Mooney has a shoulder injury and will miss a few weeks. (Tom Pelissero on X)
FFToday's Take: "A few weeks" is going to drop Mooney's ADP as we roll into August. We're get likely to get more information on the specific injury soon. Perhaps an AC sprain? D.J. Chark was signed by Atlanta late this afternoon.
