2022 Outlook
Depth Chart
Before an ACL tear in the final preseason game last season, Dobbins was pegged as a serious breakout candidate. Unfortunately, we never got to see Dobbins in his 2nd year, and instead are left to wonder what could have been, and what can ultimately be expected of him in 2022. There have been several studies and examinations done over the years on how effective players can be upon return from ACL injuries. For every Adrian Peterson, who rushed for 2k yards the year after his injury, there are a handful of guys that struggled (Saquon Barkley most recently) or never regained their form, and were soon out of the league. Dobbins has both age (23) and time (he will be 12+ months recovered by the start of the season) on his side.

What he doesn't have is a clear path to carries in this Raven backfield. Dobbins, and his torn-ACL sidekick Gus Edwards are sure to split carries to start the year until they get their legs back under them. Dobbins had a dynamite rookie year, rushing for 805 yards, scoring 9 times on the ground and averaging 6.0 yards-per-carry, and he certainly has the ability to best those numbers with enough opportunity. There was also talk of increasing his work on the passing game, as they Ravens desperately need more from their backs, but he hardly looked smooth and natural as a rookie. As it's highly unlikely Dobbins will see snaps in the preseason, pay close attention to practice reports. If it gets deep into the summer, and he's practicing, don't hesitate to take a shot on his tremendous upside.

Injury J.K. Dobbins on track for season opener
Activated from PUP list on Monday
By: Doug Orth | Mon Aug 8, 11:55 pm

Baltimore Ravens
Ravens’ RB J.K. Dobbins is being activated today off the Physically Unable To Perform List and is on track to be ready for the Week 1 regular-season opener vs the NY Jets, per sources. (ESPN - Adam Schefter)

FFToday's Take: Camp video showed Dobbins taking it slow through some drills, but that is to be expected on a player's first day back from a major injury. It should also be noted tag-team partner Gus Edwards (knee) is looking doubtful to join Dobbins in the backfield in Week 1, which means there is a possibility Dobbins sees more work early in the season than one might have expected a month ago. Either way, Dobbins now appears to be a solid RB2 investment at worst.

Baltimore adds Clement for running back depth
J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards on PUP list
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Jul 25, 6:07 pm

Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens on Monday reached an agreement with veteran running back Corey Clement to provide much-needed depth in the backfield, a source told ESPN. Baltimore is without its two top running backs in J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards, both of whom were placed on the physically unable to perform list. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Mike Davis, Tyler Badie, and Justice Hill are on the roster as well giving the Ravens plenty of RBs to practice with. The real story is how soon Dobbins (knee)) and Edwards (knee) will come off the PUP list and which of these running backs will get cut prior to Week 1. Dobbins was vocal on Twitter last week that he'll be ready for the season.
