| Darrell Henderson not expected to play|

|Rams’ RB Darrell Henderson, who is questionable for Sunday due to a rib injury, is not expected to play today vs. the Buccaneers, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Jake Funk and Sony Michel should handle the majority of running back touches for the Rams today against the Buccaneers. Game plans don't typically call for running against the Bucs so Michel's upside is probably capped at an RB2 level in Week 3.
| Darrell Henderson will be a gametime decision|

|Sean McVay says RB Darrell Henderson's availability Sunday will depend on pain tolerance. He's dealing with a rib cartilage injury that he suffered last Sunday against the Colts. (Lindsey Thiry on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: McVay has stated that "we'll be smart with Henderson" who injured his ribs in Week 2. Sony Michel could see an increased workload against the Buccaneers. The Rams-Bucs game kicks off at 4:25 pm Eastern on Sunday.
| Darrell Henderson dealing with rib injury|
In question for Week 3

|Rams coach Sean McVay says that RB Darrell Henderson has a rib cartilage injury but they have hope and optimism with him and will be checking in again Friday. (ESPN - Lindsey Thiry)|
FFToday's Take: Rib cartilage injuries tend to be pain management issues, so expect Henderson to be listed as questionable on the final injury report of Week 3. It would be hard to pin this injury on Henderson's lack of durability, but one of the reasons he has yet to assume a feature-back role is because he hasn't been able to stay healthy for any length of time when he's had the chance. Expect more Sony Michel as the season progresses.

Rams new RB still learning playbook but should be available

|Kevin Modesti (@KevinModesti) via Twitter: "Also "on track" for the Rams' game against the Bears on Sunday is running back Sony Michel, who's learning the playbook after the Aug. 25 trade. McVay said he'll know more later in the week." (Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Michel could eventually challenge Darrell Henderson for touches in a committee role, but he'll likely be eased in at first until he's up to speed with Sean McVay's scheme.
|Darrell Henderson still very much in Rams' plans|
HC: Addition of Sony Michel "doesn't change the outlook for him"
By: Doug Orth | Thu Aug 26, 11:25 pm
|Sean McVay on Sony Michel:
“Wanted to make sure that we got somebody else that’s played in big-time games.”
“(Darrell Henderson) is still going to have a very big role. Doesn’t really change the outlook for him." (NFL Network - Andrew Siciliano)|
FFToday's Take: While fantasy managers can be a skeptical bunch, what McVay is saying makes a lot of sense. Michel hasn't handled much work in the passing game and isn't going to get the reps he needs to be a factor there at this point of the preseason. Anderson's fantasy value undoubtedly takes a hit, but he should still be viewed as a strong flex option with occasional RB2 upside to begin the season. What happens after that depends largely on how quickly Michel adjusts to his new system.

Pats receive 2022 fifth and sixth round picks
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Aug 25, 7:26 am
|The Rams are trading a 2022 fifth and sixth round pick to the Patriots for RB Sony Michel, multiple sources said. Rams get their complementary player to Henderson, who will also alleviate some of the depth/durability concerns at the position. (Jourdan Rodrigue on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: The Rams have been hit with injuries at running back this preseason with Cam Akers (Achilles) out for the year, Raymond Calais (foot) out indefinitely and Darrel Henderson (sprained thumb). Michel provides insurance for Henderson who's been a bit injury-prone during his short career. This move caps Henderson's upside who should remain the lead back while J.J. Taylor and Rhamondre Stevenson elevate in New England.
