Alvin Kamara will start the 2026 season on the wrong side of 30 years old. His single TD scored in 2025 was a career-low, and his 33 receptions were also a career low. That's not a good sign from a fantasy perspective for a 31-year-old running back who missed the last six games of 2025 and who is expected to yield considerable playing time to the younger Etienne. And as mentioned above, Kamara's presence on the team isn't guaranteed. But assuming he stays put, Kamara is simply a shell of his former dominant self who should not be drafted until late in drafts as a dart throw. The questions surrounding him are too plentiful. Kamara's production in his prime was must-see TV, but those days are no longer.

Alvin Kamara out the next month with sprained MCL Saints lose another offensive weapon By: Mike Krueger | Wed Aug 19, 9:28 am

| | Saints RB Alvin Kamara is expected to be sidelined for at least the next month due to a sprained MCL, per source. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: On the heels of Jordyn Tyson's hamstring injury, the Saints will lose the services of another offensive weapon for the next few weeks. Kamara is set to have a change-of-pace, pass-catching role behind Travis Etienne, who may take on a bigger role during the first couple weeks of the season. Kendre Miller, Devin Neal and Audric Estime and Ty Chandler round out the running back depth chart in New Orleans.

| Alvin Kamara sticking with Saints on restructured deal 31-year-old RB wants to retire as a Saint By: Mike Krueger | Wed Jul 15, 4:11 pm

| | Alvin Kamara and the Saints are finalizing a new deal. (Nick Underhill on X)
FFToday's Take: Kamara's time in New Orleans seemed in limbo this off-season as the team brought in Travis Etienne to be it's featured back. This will likely be a pay cut for Kamara (31) when the details are announced and he'll likely have a diminished role in 2026. He'll be a better option in PPR leagues and should get plenty of third down work as long as he remains healthy. He finished as the RB35 in PPR leagues last season among all RBs playing in at least eight games.
