2019 Outlook
Depth Chart
Injuries forced Howard to play in just ten games last season for the Bucs. The former first-round pick from Alabama increased his fantasy point per game output by 2.6 points per game, and increased his receptions, targets, and receiving yards despite playing in three fewer games than his 2017 rookie season.

With DeSean Jackson and Adam Humphries leaving the Bucs via free agency there are over 140 targets available in the Tampa Bay offense up for grabs. While we certainly see a big chunk of those going to Chris Godwin, Mike Evans, and the other wide receivers on the roster, Howard is set to make a big jump in targets and hopefully touchdown production.

Owners who miss out on one of the big three at the tight end position may want to consider using a fifth or sixth-round pick on Howard. He will not likely get the same target volume Kittle, Kelce, and Ertz receive, but he is a consistent performer who is primed to finish as a top-5 player at the position.

A gun-slinging quarterback with a great head coach, fantastic skill position players, and a terrible defense is a winning formula for fantasy production.

Injury O.J. Howard out for Week 9
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 1, 12:20 pm

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
TE O.J. Howard will miss his second straight game with a hamstring injury and won't play Sunday at Seattle. Injury reports will be out later but TE Cameron Brate was limited Thursday with a rib injury. (Rick Stroud on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It sounds like Brate will be active this week and once again will be a punt play if you're struggling at the tight end position. Currently, the Bucs-Seahawks game has the hightest total (51.5) on the board.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Players not participating in #Bucs practice today: TE Cameron Brate TE O.J. Howard OT Demar Dotson OG Alex Cappa was back at practice. (Pewter Report on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Howard missed Week 8 with a hamstring injury. Not word yet on why Brate missed. The tight end position has been an afterthought in the Bucs offense this year with both TEs combining for 26 catches, 327 yards and 2 TDs through eight weeks.

FFToday's Take: Howard has been a fantasy so far in 2019 so hopefully Howard owners have found a replacement by now. In his absence, Cameron Brate will see an increase in snap and be one week dart throw for owners desperate at the position.
