|At first glance, Robby Anderson's 2018 season does not look that impressive, with the former undrafted wideout from Temple catching 50 balls for 752 yards and six touchdowns in 14 games. But a closer examination of his game log reveals a strong finish to the year with an average of 17 fantasy points in each of his final three games of the fantasy regular season and playoffs.
Anderson and Sam Darnold appeared to build a rapport in the final few games, highlighted by a 9/140/1 game at home against the Packers in the fantasy Super Bowl. Hopefully, that chemistry will continue over the offseason programs and into training camp this summer.
The addition of Le'Veon Bell in the backfield and Jamison Crowder out of the slot should make Darnold's second season in the NFL easier and should make the offense better overall. Although Quincy Enunwa is still on the roster and will continue to garner a decent amount of targets, the wide receiver to own for the Jets this season is Robby Anderson.
| Sam Darnold out for Week 2, illness|
Will miss game with mononucleosis

FFToday's Take: It's possible Darnold could miss Week 3 as well given the illness. The Jets have a bye in Week 4. Trevor Siemian is expected to start against the Browns on Monday Night Football. This will devalue the Jets' offensive players with the hardest hit being Robby Anderson. Jamison Crowder is still a solid WR3 play especially in PPR leagues.
| Quincy Enunwa out for the year, neck injury|
Second serious neck injury for Enunwa
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Sep 11, 10:30 am
|The Jets will be without starting wide receiver Quincy Enunwa for the rest of the season, The Post has learned.
Enunwa suffered a neck injury in Sunday’s season-opening loss to the Bills and will not be able to return this year. This is the second serious neck injury Enunwa has suffered. He missed the entire 2017 season after injuring his neck in training camp that year. It is unclear whether this injury is considered career-threatening. (New York Post)|
FFToday's Take: This would explain the trade for Demaryius Thomas yesterday. Enunwa signed a four-year, $36 million contract extension in December. Josh Bellamy may get some extra run with Enunwa out but Robby Anderson and Jamison Crowder should continue to be the focal points in the passing offense.
|Jets acquire WR Demaryius Thomas|
Patriots get 2021 sixth-round pick
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Sep 9, 4:00 pm
|One day after coach Adam Gase's public criticism of the team, the New York Jets traded for wide receiver Demaryius Thomas and changed kickers for the third time since training camp -- a mini-shake-up that sends a message to the locker room. The Jets acquired Thomas from the New England Patriots for a 2021 sixth-round pick, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: So, you trade a pick to your division rival for an aging wide receiver coming off an Achilles injury? Interesting. The Patriots cut Thomas on final cut-down day then brought him back at a reduced cost. He was expendable given the acquisition of Antonio Brown. This moves doesn't do much for Thomas' fantasy value. The only receivers to consider in New York are Jamison Crowder and Robby Anderson.
