The Adam Thielen we remember from 2020 and 2021 when he had 24 receiving TDs is long gone. Even his 2023 version when he hauled in a ridiculous 103 catches is nowhere to be found. Thielen's fantasy stardom days are over, but maybe the young receivers on this team can glean knowledge from the veteran. Thielen's restructured contract implies that this is his last season in Carolina, and the team may have interest in getting the young players more involved. Entering draft season, however, Thielen is viewed only as a depth piece. Some may even skip Thielen entirely and take a flyer on fellow Panther receiver Xavier Legette several rounds later. I, too, would take Legette in this scenario.

WR Jalen Coker out 4-6 weeks, quad injury Panthers bring back Hunter Renfrow By: Mike Krueger | Sat Aug 30, 11:50 am

| | Panthers are re-signing WR Hunter Renfrow to their active roster, per sources. Renfrow played at Clemson, and now will get to play at Carolina.
In a corresponding move, Carolina WR Jalen Coker is being placed on IR due to a quad injury. (Adam Schefter on X)
FFToday's Take: The day after the Panthers traded Adam Thielen to Minnesota, Coker injured his quad and has been placed on IR with a return designation. This is the same quad that caused him to miss three games in 2024. Renfrow is now inline to get the call in the slot in three wideout sets to begin the season.
