Injury Evan Engram out for Week 2
Calf injury
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Sep 15, 12:39 pm

New York Giants
The #Giants ruled out TE Evan Engram with a calf injury, as he’ll miss his second straight game. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Engram missed Week 1 with a calf injury and will sit the bench again on a short week. In his absence Kyle Rudolph posted a 2-8-0 line on five targets against the Broncos. Both tight ends are off the fantasy radar for now.

Injury Evan Engram a long-shot for Week 1
Calf injury
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Sep 6, 8:10 am

New York Giants
From @GMFB: #Giants RB Saquon Barkley (knee) is close to being fully cleared. Meanwhile, TE Evan Engram (calf) hasn’t been ruled out vs. the #Broncos, but he’s considered a long-shot for Sunday heading into the week. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: With Engram likely out, expect Kyle Rudolph to get the start against the Broncos but will be more in the TE2 range. Engram was injured in the Giants final preseason game on 8/29.

Injury Irv Smith likely out for the season, knee surgery
4-5 month recovery timetable
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Sep 1, 11:44 am

Minnesota Vikings
Minnesota Vikings tight end Irv Smith Jr. underwent surgery to repair his meniscus Wednesday morning and is likely to miss the season based on the 4-5 month recovery timetable, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Smith was injured in the team's preseason finale at Kansas City on Friday. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Smith had some upside value in fantasy drafts this Summer after the departure of Kyle Rudolph, but can now be crossed off your cheatsheet. The Vikings worked a trade with the Jets yesterday to acquire the under-achieving Chris Herndon who needed a change of scenery. Even with Tyler Conklin (hamstring) likely to see a bump in targets, fantasy owners can avoid the Vikings TE position for now.

Injury Saquon Barkley begins camp on PUP list
Can be activated at any time
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Jul 22, 4:48 pm

New York Giants
#Giants RB Saquon Barkley and TE Kyle Rudolph and #Patriots CB Stephon Gilmore and QB Jarrett Stidham are among the players who will open training camp on the active/PUP list, per the transaction wire. They can be activated at any time. (Tom Pelissero on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Barkley is coming off an ACL injury suffered in Week 2 last season and there's been some discourse this off-season on whether or not he may be limited to start the season. It's difficult to project Barkley missing any significant time but once he does hit the field his practice reports will scrutinized closely.
