2026 Outlook
Depth Chart
Matthew Stafford put together a phenomenal season in 2025. Despite battling a preseason back injury that tanked his ADP, Stafford wildly outperformed expectations, playing 17 games, leading the league with 4,707 passing yards and 46 touchdowns (12 more than any other QB), and edging out Drake Maye to capture the NFL MVP award. Stafford simply thrives in Sean McVay's scheme, leading the league's highest-scoring offense this past season which allowed him to finish as a weekly fantasy stud and an absolute steal for managers who drafted him late.

Despite the Rams selecting another quarterback in the first round of the NFL Draft, Stafford heads into 2026 entrenched as the leader of this elite offense. The Rams return head coach Sean McVay and an offensive line that kept Stafford upright despite his advanced age. Perhaps more importantly, he also retains a top-tier pass-catching duo in Puka Nacua and Davante Adams.

While Los Angeles made waves this offseason by trading for Myles Garrett, Stafford's passing volume and red-zone effectiveness keep his floor remarkably high. Unfortunately repeating a 46-touchdown MVP campaign is a tall order and he lacks the mobility that most other top fantasy QBs have, so he'll have a tough time repeating as a top-two performer at the position, but his ADP allows him to be taken as a bottom-end QB1 in most drafts, if not a QB2 in some drafts, making him a perfect complementary option to another more risky option at the position.
