Michael Penix Jr. back on the practice field Torn ACL suffered in mid-November By: Mike Krueger | May 12 2026, 9:19 pm
Six months removed from tearing his left ACL, Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. has returned to the field. A team spokesperson said Penix is participating in Phase 2 of the Falcons' offseason program. Penix, 26, tore the ACL last Nov. 16 in a game against the Carolina Panthers. It was Penix's third torn ACL in the past eight years. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take:The Falcons have added Tua Tagovailoa and a quarterback competition is expected to happen once Penix is at full strength. Penix has played in just 14 games in his first two NFL seasons with little fantasy relevance. At the moment, I'm expecting Tua to begin the season as the Falcons starter but we'll see what how the quarterback competition emerges in training camp.
