Green Bay Packers

Rodgers likely headed to AFC team if traded
Team will explore the idea of trading 39-year-old QB
By: Doug Orth | Jan 24 2023, 4:45 pm

Update: The #Packers will not be trading Aaron Rodgers within the NFC Conference. They "will explore" the idea of trading the QB exclusively to the AFC, per @AdamSchefter. (Dov Kleiman on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Green Bay is in a bad cap situation entering the 2023 season, so a trade to get about $60 million of guaranteed money moved would be a good thing for its cap situation. Rodgers does not have a no-trade clause in his contract, so the Packers don't need his permission on where he could be dealt either. Whereas last year felt more like speculation, it feels as though there is a legitimate chance Rodgers could be traded this offseason. Expect the Jets, Raiders, Titans and Colts to be among the most interested teams.
