| Patriots sign Cam Newton, one-year deal Low-risk high-reward for Patriots By: Mike Krueger | Jun 28 2020, 7:54 pm
| Former NFL MVP Cam Newton has reached agreement on a one-year, incentive-laden deal with the New England Patriots, league sources tell @mortreport and me.
Newton now will step into the mix to try to help replace former Patriots’ QB Tom Brady. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Given the inexperience at quarterback in New England, this was a likely landing spot for Newton. However, his market has been cold as ice, allowing the Patriots to sign the veteran to team-friendly deal. With the exception of 2015, Newton's passing stats have been relatively average but his rushing prowess, especially around the goaline has made him a fantasy threat. The weak receiving corps in New England won't do him any fantasy favors in 2020.
