Stretch Run
12/15/00

It's kind of sad sitting here in the DC metropolitan area listening to all these radio jockeys blaming the demise of the Redskins on Dapper Dan.

Hey I'm no skins fan but all you people who are ripping Dan now are the same ones who were talking that superbowl nonsense this summer. The fact of the matter is Dan Snyder is only partially responsible for the meltdown because of some of the personnel decisions he made, but he can't make Deion tackle, he can't make any of the 100 kickers that have come through the team make a field goal. I mean come on DC lets put the blame where it belongs. Squarely on the shoulders of the players...

Is it so hard to find a reliable kicker in the NFL? I mean instead of recycling these guys who are waived by other teams why not find some of these soccer players or undrafted guys. And what's up with the injury bug on kickers this season? I can't remember a season where so many top kickers have missed games due to injury...

Wow how about the Pro Bull err Bowl selections. While it's hard to argue some of them, I can't understand Eric Moulds over Rod Smith. Not at all. Another snub I can't get over is Mike Anderson not making it. I know Cris Carter is breaking records and all but does he deserve it more than say Joe Horn, based on this season alone? Then I don't how Peyton Manning makes it and Elvis Grbac doesn't. Look at the numbers they are surprisingly close. I'm sure there are some other snubs on the list but those stand out the most to me. I'm not saying the guys chosen don't deserve it but this is starting to reek of the Florida Presidential elections....

Should a guy who misses 4 or 5 games even be considered for the Pro Bowl? If so, and it does look that way, where the heck is Fred Taylor?...

I'd also like to see this injury reporting process cleaned up a bit. I'm sure that we all have been burned this season by the famous "gametime decision". We may not get any recognition from the players or the NFL but us Fantasy ballers are the ones who make this sport so popular. And in turn I'd like the league to make some improvements on our behalf. All stadiums should have a scoreboard dedicated to fantasy stats as well as out of town scores. Send all your suggestions to Mike, no. Just kidding about that. I'd hate for Mike's inbox to explode...

I wish you all the best of luck in your playoffs if you are still in them and happy holidays! Just think about how cool this is, after your wife/girlfriend is finished dragging you around on Saturday for that last minute shopping, you will be able to kick back on xmas eve and enjoy some football. There should be a few meaningful games left then!
