Cheap DFS Picks Week 4: Top DraftKings Values

Another week of NFL DFS action is here, and there's money to be made. One of the quickest paths to a GPP takedown is nailing the right values, and that's where I come in. Last week, I was all over some stellar value plays, with a chalky Jaylen Warren being one and an unowned Kenyon Sadiq being another. Let's see which NFL DFS cheap picks stand out at DraftKings for Week 4. QuarterbacksJacoby
Brissett, Cardinals ($5K) Trevor Lawrence may be the best play at quarterback this week, but he's also chalky and costs $900 more than Mr. Printing Press, Jacoby Brissett. Brissett made a name for himself by routinely topping 20+ fantasy points last year, and his offensive system got even better this season. That helped him churn out 25 fantasy points last week, and now he faces a Giants defense that is allowing 21.6 fantasy points per game (13th-worst). With the savings you get with Brissett, you don't sacrifice that much in projection, you get less ownership at quarterback, and it opens up salary to get a high-priced receiver like JSN. Running BacksJeremiyah Love, Cardinals ($5.8K) I don't know if there's a better running back value than Jeremiyah Love heading into Week 4. That is certainly the case when looking at draft capital and talent, as the former top-five draft pick is immensely talented and finally has the role to back up his name. Arizona took a few weeks to let the training wheels come off, but Love touched the ball 26 times in Week 3, possibly setting himself up for a true breakout in Week 4. It feels weird to say that since he dropped 21.9 fantasy points last week, but a date with the Giants (10th-worst vs. RBs) looks awfully good on paper. The best part is the salary, of course. Love is an elite talent with a good role and a soft matchup, but he simply projects way above his price tag at DraftKings. Braelon Allen, Jets ($5.2K) Love is the better play in a vacuum, but there is no denying that Braelon Allen is set up for success this week. New York running back Breece Hall has officially been ruled out for Week 4, handing the keys to the Jets' ground game to Allen. The former Wisconsin Badger has explosive upside and comes in with a solid fantasy projection. The matchup with the Bears looks good on paper, too, with the only question being whether the Jets can keep this game close. There's mild concern about Allen's role and the point spread, but he's too cheap to ignore. Wide ReceiversKalif Raymond, Bears ($3.6K) There is a running trend here: play people in the Bears vs. Jets game. It has more to do with Ben Johnson and his public plight to score the most points in NFL history, of course, and he definitely has some ground to cover. I am curious if he's curbed those lofty goals for when Caleb Williams is back under center, but if he can run up the score on the Jets, I assume he'll try to. Kalif Raymond may end up being a big part of that, as he's been more involved through three weeks than anyone -- perhaps including him -- had expected. Chicago does have a lot of mouths to feed, but Raymond's value is undeniable. He is simply too cheap for a guy who has seen 5+ targets in every game and has poured in 16+ fantasy points twice in the first three weeks. Dontayvion Wicks, Eagles ($4.3K) DeVonta Smith is on the shelf for Week 4 and possibly longer. That is going to hurt this Philadelphia Eagles offense, but their other wide receivers will be forced to step up by default. Rookie Makai Lemon could benefit just as well, but the more experienced Wicks is the first guy everyone should be looking at. A date with a solid Rams defense (sixth-fewest yards allowed to WRs) is suboptimal, but sheer volume could keep Wicks in play this week. Wicks enters Week 4 with a strong projection due to basically being handed the team's No. 1 WR role. It may not go incredibly smoothly, but if he can get even 7-8 targets, it's hard to envision him failing. Tight EndsT.J. Hockenson, Vikings ($3.3K) We hit on a value tight end last week, so let's keep the good times going. T.J. Hockenson instantly stands out as a solid value, as the Dolphins are a great matchup for TEs and Minnesota may be short on passing-game weapons. First, the matchup is sublime. Miami gave up almost 60 yards and a score to Travis Kelce last week, while the Dolphins rank 10th-worst against the position overall on the year. Secondly, and just as important, the Vikings may not have Justin Jefferson for this game. Their top receiver left last week early due to an ankle injury, and conventional wisdom suggests they probably don't need him to beat Miami. If a limited or absent Jefferson opens the door for more work, that could make Hockenson an especially appealing value. Brenton Strange, Jaguars ($3.2K) There's more value at tight end, as you can save an extra $100 in salary by playing a superior option in Brenton Strange. The volume isn't any better, but Strange has a way better matchup as he prepares to take on a Bengals pass defense that ranks ninth-worst in the league. Cincinnati's actual ranking is just one spot above Miami, but a closer look reveals that they allow the third-most targets, the third-most catches, and the second-most yards to the TE position. Strange is not heavily utilized, and Jacksonville has a lot of weaponry, but in a close game with a high total, he's as good a punt as any in Week 4 NFL DFS. Finding Good Cheap Plays in NFL DFSThe number one rule when locating quality NFL DFS value picks is to make sure they are grounded in logic. Anyone can get lucky by clicking random cheap plays, but their success rate won't be great over time if those picks aren't backed by sound reasoning. All of my Week 4 NFL DFS values look good on paper for one reason or another, with price being just the start. Either the game environments are appealing, their role is increasing, or they have an excellent positional advantage. Ultimately, it's up to you which NFL DFS values you roster, as well as which studs you pay up for.
