|Fullbacks don't get much glory in the NFL these days, but there is little denying that Marcel Reece is a talented weapon for the Raiders. He contributes both as a blocker and a runner and has proven to be productive in one-back sets, as evidenced by his career averages of 4.8 yards per carry and 10.8 yards per reception. But what fantasy pundits want to know is whether he would be productive in an extended stay in the starting line up if Darren McFadden were lost to injury. Why not? He can run the ball and caught 52 passes last season, a remarkable number for a fullback. He also piled up 456 yards in four starts subbing in for McFadden. Consider Reece worthy of a flier, particularly if he enters the season as the Raiders’ main backup behind McFadden, which seems likely.

Raiders RB will give it a go despite hamstring injury
Raiders RB Darren McFadden told Colleen Dominguez that he will play today vs. the Chiefs. (Adam Schefter via Twitter)
FF Today's Take: With Rashad Jennings (hamstring) expected to play too, it limits the value any Raiders RB including Marcel Reece. McFadden will be a risky play given his injury and tough matchup against the Chiefs.
McFadden practices again Thursday -- Thu Oct 10 4:35 pm --
Rashad Jennings also takes part
While the Raiders’ running game appears to be getting healthier - Darren McFadden and Rashad Jennings were both practicing Thursday - the guys responsible for clearing running lanes were still in flux as C Stefen Wisniewski (sprained right knee) was out, as was rookie LT Menelik Watson (calf). (ESPN)
FF Today's Take: McFadden would be working against his own injury history - and perhaps common sense - to play against the Chiefs with a bye week coming up in Week 7. It is still entirely possible the Raiders rest him and use Marcel Reece and Jeremy Stewart in a committee this weekend.
Jennings leaves with hamstring injury -- Mon Oct 7 1:00 am --
Raiders RB doesn't play in second half
|Running back Rashad Jennings suffered a hamstring injury in the first half, and he wasn't able to finish the game.

FF Today's Take: The Raiders have a bye in Week 7 so Jennings may not see the field again until Week 8. Marcel Reece will be the back to own in Week 6 should Jennings not play.
McFadden misses practice Thu. -- Thu Oct 3 10:00 pm --
Not likely to play in Week 5
In Darren McFadden’s case, Allen said Thursday, he doesn’t have to practice Friday — he missed practice Wednesday and Thursday — but at some point between now and Sunday night’s game against the San Diego Chargers, Allen wants “to see something” that indicates McFadden’s hamstring is healed well enough for him to play. (ContraCostaTimes)
FF Today's Take: We'll follow practice reports tomorrow but if McFadden sits (as expected) he's not likely to play. Rashad Jennings will get the start for Oakland with Marcel Reece playing a complimentary role.
McFadden exits with hamstring injury -- Sun Sep 29 7:00 pm --
Rashad Jennings picks up the slack
Rashad Jennings was called upon to fill in for running back Darren McFadden, who suffered a hamstring injury early in the first half of the Raiders' 24-14 loss to Washington. (Inside the Bay Area)
FF Today's Take: Jennings carried 15 times for 45 yards and caught eight passes for 71 yards while filling in for McFadden. He'll be a hot waiver wire pickup if McFadden and Marcel Reece (knee) miss any amount of time.
