Steven Jackson agrees with Falcons -- Thu Mar 14 4:25 pm --
Perfect for team and fantasy | Reports: Rams free-agent RB Steven Jackson has reached an agreement with the Falcons. (Fox Sports via Twitter)
FF Today's Take: This was a likely landing spot for Jackson along with Green Bay. He'll get the starting job and be a better fit for the Falcons offense due to his pass-catching abilities. He'll share time with Jacquizz Rodgers but should get the bulk of carries on the goaline. He's shaping up as a solid fantasy RB2 for 2013.

A three-year deal is rumored to be in the works | Rashard Mendenhall and Reggie Bush found homes in free agency Wednesday. Steven Jackson doesn't want to get left out in the cold when the game of musical chairs at running back stops spinning. Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette reported Wednesday that the Packers and running back Steven Jackson have been talking about a three-year contract. Demovsky cautions that doesn't mean a deal is done or a deal will get done, but clearly there is strong mutual interest. (NFL.com)
FF Today's Take: The Packers' and their Aaron Rodgers-led offense are pass-oriented, but Jackson could still factor in as a fantasy-worthy back. The bruising back is versatile enough to run defenders over on a rush up the gut or to step outside and make a catch in the flats. He would make for a welcomed addition to a Packers' backfield that has been filled with inexperience and uncertainty in recent years.

Rams RB set to be a free agent on March 12th | Steven Jackson voided the final year of his contract with the Rams this week, officially making him an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday. Said Jackson, "I’ve opted out of my position of being with the team and being comfortable because I want to continue to still be the bell cow. So that’s how I want teams to look at me. That’s how I’m going to shop myself."

FF Today's Take: Jackson believes he can still be a lead back in this league and wants to play for Super Bowl contending team. Wanting to get Daryl Richardson more involved in the offense, the Rams made it clear to Jackson that his role would be reduced in 2013. The Falcons and Packers seem like obvious fits for the 29-year-old running back.

Will test free agency, Falcons would be good fit | Rams running back Steven Jackson will void the final year of his contract March 12, league sources told the Post-Dispatch on Monday. That means Jackson, the Rams’ career rushing leader, will test the free-agent market. One of the most likely suitors is Atlanta, which according to reports plans to release veteran back Michael Turner. (St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
FF Today's Take: This has been the consensus for some time now. Jackson is scheduled to make $7 million in 2013 and the Rams may have been forced to cut him if he elected to play in St. Louis in 2013. If the Falcons release Turner, Jackson would be a good fit bringing more speed and agility to go along with Jacquizz Rodgers.
