2017 Outlook
Depth Chart
With a talented wide receiving corps led by Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard, it is somewhat surprising that Eli Manning finished well out of fantasy relevancy as the No.23 quarterback in fantasy points per game last season. Although he managed to top the 4,000-yard plateau for the third consecutive season, he was nine off his touchdown mark from 2016, resulting in four fewer fantasy points per game. The addition of Brandon Marshall to the passing game will no doubt help Manning in the red zone, as Marshall's size and body control near the goal line will give Manning a second weapon alongside OBJ. First round draft pick Evan Engram should also provide a spark on passes over the middle, with Engram's size and speed creating a mismatch for tight ends looking to cover the quicker Engram, who by some accounts looks more like a slot receiver that a true tight end. A positive regression to his TD average of 33 under Ben McAdoo is not out of the question for Manning, assuming that Marshall provides a red zone spark and Manning can keep his interception number close to 15. But with the sheer number of viable fantasy quarterbacks, Manning will be more of a streaming option for most owners in 2017.

News From The Past 90 Days
Giants fire HC Ben McAdoo and GM Jerry Reese
House cleaning
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Dec 4, 11:45 am

New York Giants
The New York Giants cleaned house on Monday, firing head coach Ben McAdoo and general manager Jerry Reese in the midst of a 2-10 season. McAdoo told ESPN's Chris Mortensen that he was out after two seasons on the job, while sources confirmed the Reese firing. Reese has been with the Giants in various roles since 1994, serving as general manager since 2007. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: As their record indicates, the Giants have been a mess all season including the Eli Manning benching debacle last week. The Giants have also suffered their fair share of injuries including WR Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall and DB Janoris Jenkins. DC Steve Spagnuolo will serve as the interim head coach

Giants bench Eli, will start Geno Smith
QB switch coming in Week 13
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Nov 28, 3:20 pm

New York Giants
Giants named Geno Smith their new starting QB. "Geno will start this week," McAdoo said. "Over the last five games, we will take a look at Geno, and we will also give Davis Webb an opportunity." (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Eli Manning has started 210 consecutive regular season games but that streak will come to an end. Geno Smith will start against the Raiders. Given all the injuries to their receiving corps the Giants have limited weapons and a poor offensive attack. Even in a decent matchup, Smith won't be a fantasy consideration.

Injury Sterling Shepard officially DNP Tuesday
Giants WR could be lynchpin for entire offense this week
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Nov 21, 3:15 pm

New York Giants
Art Stapleton (@art_stapleton) on Twitter: "Sterling Shepard officially did not practice today. Olivier Vernon and Damon Harrison were limited. #Giants" (Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Shepard's status (he missed Week 11 with migraines) for Thursday's game could be crucial to gauging the game flow and result of that matchup. Eli Manning, Orleans Darkwa and Even Engram should all benefit if Shepard is active and healthy.

Injury Giants add to receiving corps
Travis Rudolph, Tavarres King signed
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Oct 9, 8:00 am

New York Giants
No one can replace Odell Beckham Jr. as far as what he brings to the field for the Giants, but there is his roster spot to fill. Monday morning, the Giants signed Travis Rudolph off their practice squad, with more moves to come as they seek to rebuild their battered wide receiver corps. Tavarres King has also been signed (New York Post)

FFToday's Take: It was a brutal day for the Giants receiving corps losing Odell Beckham Jr. (broken ankle), Dwayne Harris (fractured foot), Brandon Marshall (sprained ankle) and Sterling Shepard (ankle). Beckham and Harris are out for the year. For now it appears Roger Lewis, King and Rudolph are the top three wide receiver options for Eli Manning. Expect TE Evan Engram to be more involved moving forward. Next up on the schedule for the Giants: at Denver, home for Seattle.
