Injury Randall Cobb to be ready Week 1
Packers WR remains a top fantasy option heading into 2015
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Sep 1, 1:15 pm

Green Bay Packers
An NFL source told FOX Sports on Tuesday that all “indicators” point to Randall Cobb being able to play after he suffered an A/C sprain during Saturday night’s preseason game against Philadelphia. (Fox Sports)

FFToday's Take: Cobb remains a Top 10 fantasy WR despite the injury, which shouldn't affect his season too much. With Jordy Nelson (torn ACL) out for the season, Cobb is primed to best his career highs in both yardage and receptions.

Injury Rodgers calls for young WRs to 'make the jump'
Third wideout an important role within the offense
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Aug 26, 6:46 pm

Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers wants to see more. More plays, more crispness and more consistency from the young receivers on the roster who are moving up in the pecking order following Jordy Nelson’s season-ending injury. “The third receiver is going to get some opportunities,” Rodgers said. “We have a talented two-headed run game, a great offensive line. We’re going to have great balance this year." (Packers.com)

FFToday's Take: The Packers seem to be fine with allowing the talent currently in camp to fill the void created by Jordy Nelson's injury. Aaron Rodgers can make an unknown receiver a weekly fixture in fantasy lineups so it will be worth monitoring the battle for the last two receiver openings over the next two weeks. With Davante Adams moving from third to second on the depth chart, Ty Montgomery is the front runner to secure the third spot.

Injury ACL tear confirmed for Jordy Nelson
Out for season
By: Doug Orth | Mon Aug 24, 5:30 pm

Green Bay Packers
Green Bay Packers star WR Jordy Nelson will miss the entire 2015 season with a knee injury, the team announced Monday. The Packers said in a statement that Nelson suffered "a significant right knee injury" in Sunday's preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Nelson, who caught a career-high 98 passes in 2014 while making the Pro Bowl for the first time, fell to the ground when he tried to cut after making an 8-yard reception on Green Bay's opening drive. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: This was the expected result after Nelson suffered the injury Sunday afternoon. Although it is unrealistic to think the Packers will simply conduct business as usual on offense without Nelson, they are more equipped to handle this kind of setback at receiver than most teams. For fantasy purposes, Randall Cobb likely moves into the elite-receiver territory, Davante Adams becomes a high-end WR2 and Jeff Janis or rookie Ty Montgomery offers high upside in the later rounds.

Injury Jordy Nelson exits with non-contact injury
Extent of Green Bay WR injury unknown
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Sun Aug 23, 1:40 pm

Green Bay Packers
During Saturday's preseason game, Jordy Nelson limped off the field after going to the turf. Nelson had hip surgery this offseason, was seen walking around on the sideline as the Packers continued their drive, and eventually made his way to the locker room. (Pro Football Talk)

FFToday's Take: This isn't good, but at least he wasn't carted off the field. We recommend staying tuned as this story develops.

HC: "Expect big things" from Davante Adams
Second-year WR continues to turn heads for Packers
By: Doug Orth | Thu Aug 20, 6:55 pm

Green Bay Packers
Packers HC Mike McCarthy on Davante Adams: "I think he's had a heck of a camp. Looking for big things from him." (Rob Demovsky on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Adams has generated headlines all offseason for the improvement he has made from his rookie year. The 6-1, 215-pound Fresno State product has Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb blocking him from a starting gig, but owners shouldn't forget third receiver James Jones led the league in touchdown catches in 2012 in this offense. Adams should be drafted as a low-end WR3, but if Nelson or Cobb was to get hurt, he could easily ascent to low-end WR1 status.

Jordy Nelson "looks like he hasn't missed a beat"
Packers WR had offseason hip surgery
By: Doug Orth | Thu Jul 30, 6:30 pm

Green Bay Packers
Packers HC Mike McCarthy on Jordy Nelson's recovery from hip surgery: "Jordy's so consistent. Looks like he hasn't missed a beat." (Rob Demovsky on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Good news for Aaron Rodgers' top receiver, who had his fair share of doubters as a 30-year-old coming off "minor" hip surgery. Even with the presence of Randall Cobb and likely emergence of Davante Adams, a healthy Nelson should once again be among the top 10 receivers in fantasy.

Rodgers gushing over Adams' approach
Second-year WR had "humongous upside"
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Jun 11, 5:20 pm

Green Bay Packers
A little over a year after he’d challenged Davante Adams - although not by name - to step up his preparation, Aaron Rodgers couldn’t stop talking Wednesday about the approach Adams is taking to his job now. “In my mind, he has humongous upside - and he’s starting to reach that upside,” Rodgers said after the team’s open-to-the-public OTA practice. “I think the opportunities are going to come for him. He’s got two great guys to play with. His attention to detail is very impressive and his approach." (ESPN Wisconsin)

FFToday's Take: Let's not forget that two seasons ago, Rodgers helped then-third receiver James Jones catch an NFL-high 14 touchdown passes. Even though some of that was due to the fact Jordy Nelson missed four games that season, the point to be made is that Rodgers can support three fantasy receivers. Although his production figures to be inconsistent again in 2015 behind Nelson and Cobb, the second-year wideout should expect a fairly sizable increase from his 38-446-3 rookie line.

Injury Jordy Nelson returns to individual drills
Expected to be ready for camp on July 30
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Jun 10, 3:38 pm

Green Bay Packers
All along, the plan for Jordy Nelson was to be full-go by the start of the Green Bay Packers' training camp on July 30. Nelson took another step in that direction this week, when he practiced for the first time since his offseason hip surgery. The Pro Bowl receiver took part in individual drills during Wednesday's organized team activities (OTAs). (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Nelson sat out of team drills but is apparently on schedule with his rehab. Nelson is coming off a career year (98-1519-13) and will have WR1 value in fantasy drafts. His current ADP sits at 2.07 (WR No.7) in 12-team leagues.
