|Ezekiel Elliott gets 6-game ban hammer|
Elliott has three business days to appeal
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Aug 11, 12:05 pm
|Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has been suspended for six games by the NFL for violating the personal conduct policy, the league announced Friday. Elliott is expected to appeal the suspension, league sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Elliott has three business days to file notice of appeal, and a hearing must be scheduled within 10 days of receipt of the notice. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: Elliott will appeal the suspension so there's a chance the penalty could be reduced. In the meantime, Elliott's fantasy value takes a significant hit. If the suspension holds, Elliott wouldn't be back on the field in Week 8. Missing that much time drops him down into RB3 consideration for the season as a whole. Darren McFadden, Rod Smith and Alfred Morris are next up on the depth chart with McFadden getting the biggest boost in playing time.

Ronnie Hilliman, Dernard Robinson in for workouts

FFToday's Take: The Cowboys are getting prepared for a Zeke Elliott suspension by bringing in Robinson and Hillman for a workout. If either is signed, they would be nothing more than depth behind Elliott and Darren McFadden.

NFL investigation is ongoing
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jul 14, 2:00 pm
|ESPN's Adam Schefter reports that although the investigation is still ongoing, Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is bracing for a short suspension stemming from an alleged domestic violence incident in 2016. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: Schefter went on to say that there's a growing sense that a 1-2 game suspension may occur in the coming weeks for the Cowboys starting running back. Nothing is official on this situation, but its enough to give fantasy owners drafting in the top three some pause. Darren McFadden is Elliott's backup.

Alfred Morris on the outside looking in
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Jun 28, 7:00 am
|Activating Darren McFadden after a prolonged layoff and using him ahead of Morris shows that the Cowboys consider McFadden to be the team's No. 2 back. He fills that role heading into this season and only appears in danger of losing it if he's injured. (SportsDay)|
FFToday's Take: It was noteworthy last season when McFadden was immediately thrust into the backup role ahead of Alfred Morris and it appears nothing has changed heading into 2017. McFadden is more adept in the passing game than Morris making him worth a dart throw late in drafts as an upside pick.
