QB feels he has realistic opportunity to win job | Jaguars HC Gus Bradley is about competition, and as Chad Henne sees it, August will be about competition between him and Blaine Gabbert.
“I think it’s a little more competition than last year. They’re putting me in different spots, allowing me to get the ‘one’ reps and really allowing me to get involved with it. That’s what I’m excited about.” (Jaguars.com)
FF Today's Take: Much like Seattle (where Bradley served as the defensive coordinator), Jacksonville is preaching competition, with even undrafted free agent Matt Scott possibly in the mix. While the Henne-Gabbert-Scott winner ultimately is a low-upside fantasy option, it could have a significant impact on how productive Cecil Shorts, Justin Blackmon and even Marcedes Lewis are this season.

QB competition expected in Jacksonville | The competition for the quarterback job between Blaine Gabbert and Chad Henne continues to be the focus of the camp. "It’s going good," Bradley said. "We’re rotating by period. There’s a lot of competition and they’re battling it. I think once we get pads on and see how they react in different situations, it will become more clear."

Jacksonville QB rehabbing from shoulder/forearm injuries | Blaine Gabbert underwent surgery for a torn left labrum in late November and was cleared by James Andrews two weeks ago to increase his activity.
Of greater concern was the right forearm injury — just below the elbow on the inside part of the arm — sustained in the opening drive of the Houston game when Gabbert was hit by cornerback Danieal Manning’s face-mask.
When the Jaguars are allowed to do on-field work with the coaches in mid-April, Gabbert will be able to participate.

FF Today's Take: Gabbert will battle Chad Henne for the starting QB job in Jacksonville. There is also speculation that Jacksonville may take a QB with the 2nd pick in the upcoming draft. Gabbert has compiled a 54% completion percentage during the first two years of his career.
