Jay Cutler to make Dolphins debut Thursday
Embattled QB scheduled to start versus Ravens
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Aug 15, 11:00 am

Miami Dolphins
Jay Cutler missed last week's preseason opener after signing a one-year, $10 million contract just a few days prior. Cutler is expected to start against Baltimore after practicing fully all week. His backup is Matt Moore. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: The Dolphins have some talented offensive players, but Cutler is going to need all the reps he can handle if he's going to resurrect his career and prove the critics wrong. He's a low-end QB2 until we see something to prove otherwise.

Injury Dolphins fearing the worst for Ryan Tannehill
One source believes QB is done for the season
By: Doug Orth | Thu Aug 3, 10:45 pm

Miami Dolphins
The Miami Dolphins now fear quarterback Ryan Tannehill is going to need season-ending knee surgery, however no decision to have it has been made at this time, according to sources close to the situation. The Dolphins are growing increasingly concerned that surgery will be the most viable and likely option as they and their starting quarterback sift through them. "He's done, I think," one source predicted Thursday night, referring to Tannehill's hopes of returning this season. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Tannehill still could decide to rest his knee for six to eight weeks and try to come back from his knee injury again, but that seems to be an unlikely outcome at the moment. Matt Moore is the next man up and compiled an 8:3 touchdown-to-interception ratio in the three games he started at the end of last season. He's a downgrade from Tannehill but not so much that receivers like Jarvis Landry and DeVante Parker need to be downgraded all that much. Moore should be considered a low-end QB2.

Injury No significant damage for Ryan Tannehill
More evaluation needed, per source
By: Doug Orth | Thu Aug 3, 5:40 pm

Miami Dolphins
No significant damage found in Ryan Tannehill's knee from initial MRI but further evaluation needed, source says. Situation still uncertain. (The Washington Post - Mark Maske)

FFToday's Take: In other words, Tannehill is not out of the woods yet, although "no significant damage" is almost always a good thing. Matt Moore showed late last season he can capably run the team if necessary and would start if Tannehill is forced to miss regular-season action.

Injury Ryan Tannehill leaves practice early
Non-contact injury
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Aug 3, 9:27 am

Miami Dolphins
Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill sustained a non-contact leg injury during Thursday’s practice and left the field walking gingerly. The Dolphins had no immediate update about the nature or the severity of the injury. Tannehill went down awkwardly after scrambling to the sideline during team drills, in the first hour of practice. (Miami Herald)

FFToday's Take: Tannehill walked off the field with trainers so hopefully this injury isn't severe. He missed a few games at the end of last season after injuring his knee which he elected not to have surgery on. Matt Moore is Tannehill's backup.
