Asante Samuel out for Eagles -- Fri Dec 23 8:15 pm --
CB plagued by hamstring injury |
The Philadelphia Eagles will have to find a way to cover the Cowboys' trio of explosive wideouts without one of their top cornerbacks as Asante Samuel will miss Saturday's game with an injured hamstring. Samuel hurt his hamstring during the Eagles win over the New York Jets last Sunday, and Eagles coach Andy Reid said Samuel re-aggravated the injury during practice Tuesday. Samuel then sat out practice Wednesday and Thursday, sealing his fate for Saturday's game. (NFL.com)
FF Today's Take: The Eagles loss of Samuel in their secondary provides a boost to the stocks of opposing quarterback Tony Romo and wide receivers Dez Bryant, Miles Austin and Laurent Robinson this week.

Laurent Robinson limited in practice -- Thu Dec 22 6:40 pm --
Cowboys WR expected to start despite shoulder injury |
Laurent Robinson (shoulder) was limited again in Thursday's practice.
(Dallas Morning News)
FF Today's Take: Robinson should play this week but expectations have to be tempered just a bit. Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten will all be competing for catches against the Eagles decent secondary on Saturday.

Laurent Robinson limited -- Thu Dec 15 9:10 pm --
Cowboys WR still dealing with shoulder injury |
Laurent Robinson (shoulder) was limited in Cowboys practice for the second straight day Thursday.
FF Today's Take: Robinson is following the same pattern as he did last week and it didn't seem to be an issue. Expect Robinson to start but beware of the Miles Austin factor. He is still a decent WR2/3 although he is a risk with Miles Austin having a game under his belt.

Austin back in lineup for Week 14 -- Sun Dec 11 7:40 pm --
 Returns after four-game absence |
Pro Bowl receiver Miles Austin is back in the starting lineup for the Dallas Cowboys after missing four games with right hamstring injury. (AP)
FF Today's Take: Austin's return should help boost the stat line of Tony Romo, but will likely hurt the overall numbers of Dez Bryant and Laurent Robinson. Expectations need to be tempered for all three receivers when everyone is healthy, but the Cowboys offense is good enough to allow all of them to be productive as fantasy starters, especially against the Giants' struggling secondary.

Laurent Robinson misses practice -- Thu Dec 8 8:32 pm --
Cowboys WR dealing with shoulder injury |
Laurent Robinson (shoulder) missed practice Thursday. (ESPN Dallas)
FF Today's Take: The combination of a shoulder injury and the presence of Miles Austin at Cowboys practice certainly has taken the luster off Robinson`s value. If he practices Friday, he will play but don`t expect the monster numbers this week. Robinson has slipped from automatic fantasy starter to risky flex option in just one week!

Miles Austin returns to practice -- Wed Dec 7 1:13 pm --
Has missed last four games with hamstring injury |
IRVING, Texas -- For the first time since Nov. 5, receiver Miles Austin is taking part in a practice for the Dallas Cowboys. (ESPNDallas.com)
FF Today's Take: Earlier this year Dallas decided to ease Felix Jones back into the mix on offense after missing several weeks and Miles Austin may be treated similarly if he returns for week 14. Laurent Robinson figures to see his targets decrease if Austin does return this week but still warrants consideration as a flex option in deeper formats.

Austin expected to practice Wednesday -- Mon Dec 5 10:15 pm --
On track to play in Week 14 |
Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin is expected to practice on Wednesday and baring any setbacks from his recovery from a hamstring injury, is expected to return to the starting lineup for Sunday night's game vs. the New York Giants.
Austin has missed the last four games with a hamstring injury and lost a total of six games due to leg injuries. (ESPN Dallas)
FF Today's Take: Until the emergence of Laurent Robinson, Austin was Tony Romo's favorite wide receiver. In Austin's absence, Robinson's latest absence, Robinson has produced five touchdowns but suffered a sprained AC joint in his shoulder in Week 13. We'll see how this plays out as the week progresses, but for right now consider Austin slightly healthier than Robinson and the slightly better fantasy play.

Miles Austin unlikely to play this week -- Thu Dec 1 7:15 pm --
Hamstring injury looks like it will keep Cowboys WR out again |
Jerry Jones said he doesn't think Miles Austin will play Sunday at Arizona. (Calvin Watkins on Twitter)
FF Today's Take: Austin missed practice Wednesday and Thursday so unless something drastic happens on Friday, Austin won't play. It appears safe to ride Laurent Robinson for at least another week.

Miles Austin misses practice again -- Wed Nov 30 12:15 pm --
Cowboys not rushing him back |
IRVING, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Miles Austin will not practice Wednesday, according to a source, possibly forcing him to miss his fourth straight game because of a hamstring injury. (ESPNDallas.com)
FF Today's Take: It's looking less and less likely that the Cowboys will play Austin this week. Laurent Robinson figures to be a quality play once again for week 13. He has scored a touchdown in 5 straight games and has received double-digit targets in Dallas' previous two contests.

Miles Austin still not practicing -- Mon Nov 28 12:53 pm --
 Hamstring injury |
IRVING, Texas -- Wide receiver Miles Austin remains sidelined with a hamstring injury. Austin, however, didn't work with the team during the walk-through and was doing rehab work as he still recovers from his injury. He's missed the last three games because of the injury. (ESPNDallas.com)
FF Today's Take: It was thought that Austin may return this week so it's not a good sign to see him miss practice Monday. It's possible that Laurent Robinson's play over recent weeks is giving Dallas more reason not to rush Austin back onto the field considering his hamstring has been a recurring injury this year.

Miles Austin misses practice Tuesday -- Tue Nov 22 7:15 pm --
Cowboys WR looks like he's a week away from return |
Miles Austin (hamstring) sat out practice again on Tuesday.
(ESPN Dallas)
FF Today's Take: No surprise here. Austin may be back in Week 13 but that still reamins to be seen. In the meantime Laurent Robinson has filled in admirably. It will be an interesting WR corp. once Austin returns, don't you think?

Jones and Austin out for the Cowboys -- Sat Nov 12 12:30 pm --
And LB Sean Lee listed as questionable |
Running back Felix Jones will miss his fourth consecutive game. He said Friday his high left ankle sprain is not ready yet, and the Cowboys have ruled him out of Sunday’s game. Jones has missed the past three games with the injury. In Jones’ absence, rookie DeMarco Murray has run for 466 yards. Receiver Miles Austin (hamstring) and cornerback Mike Jenkins (hamstring) also will not play this week. Right guard Kyle Kosier (foot), linebacker Sean Lee (wrist) and punter Mat McBriar (foot) are questionable. (Fort Worth Star-Telegram)
FF Today's Take: Murray has certainly flourished in Jones' absence, and will likely see little or no reduction in carries when the veteran eventually returns from his ankle injury. Austin's hamstring injury will give wide receiver Laurent Robinson an ideal opportunity to have another productive game this weekend. He's totaled 135 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns in his past two games.
