After signing a five-year contract extension prior to the 2010 season, Avant merely duplicated his 2009 production, catching 51 passes for 573 yards and a touchdown. Even though he had 16 more targets in 2010, he failed to capitalize on the increased opportunity as he suffered a case of the dropsies, including a couple of easy ones in the end zone. Entering 2011, he will battle second-year receiver Riley Cooper for playing time. Look for Avant to hold off Cooper, but it seems that a drop in production remains likely for Avant. Tight end Brent Celek figures to be more involved this season, and Cooper will nonetheless eat into Avant’s targets. Unless injuries strike DeSean Jackson or Jeremy Maclin, Avant is only worth owning in the larger leagues with deep rosters.
FF Today's Take:Maclin has yet to see the practice field since Week 10 so it is a good bet that he will be inactive Thursday night against Seattle. Riley Cooper and Jason Avant have filled in admirably and could be a factor again this week with Maclin out of the lineup.
Young to make first start with Eagles-- Sat Nov 19 8:00 pm -- Vick out with broken ribs
Vick won't play when the Philadelphia Eagles visit the New York Giants on Sunday because of two broken ribs. Vince Young will make his first start for Philadelphia in Vick's place. He's thrown one pass this season -- an interception. Wide receiver Jeremy Maclin also won't play because of shoulder and hamstring injuries.(AP)

Three practices down for the Eagles this week, all three without Michael Vick. For the third straight day, Vick did not participate in Eagles practice. This time, he wasn’t even there as a spectator. Neither was Jeremy Maclin. The wide receiver has been sidelined by shoulder and hamstring injuries all week. Vick continues to deal with a pair of broken ribs.(Philly Sports Daily)

DeSean Jackson expected to be inactive-- Sun Nov 13 8:30 am -- Missed a team meeting yesterday
When the Eagles’ inactives are announced about 90 minutes before gametime today, there will be one very large surprise.
Wideout DeSean Jackson missed a meeting yesterday and was told he would not be in uniform for today’s encounter with the Arizona Cardinals at Lincoln Financial Field, a source close to the situation told the Daily News. A team source confirmed the news.

FF Today's Take:If Jackson is inactive today, Jason Avant would get the start with Steve Smith filling in as the slot receiver. Avant would be a decent WR3 play against the Cardinals.
