Gore is coming off an injury-marred 2010 season in which he saw action in just ten games because of a hip injury in Week 12 that put him on injured reserve. Prior to the injury, he was well on his way to another solid season, with 853 rushing yards, 452 receiving yards, and five touchdowns in eleven games. Looking at the sad state of San Francisco’s offense, that should be considered good production. Gore remains the focal point of the San Francisco offense—equally effective at running the ball and as a receiver. He remains a workhorse back as he enters his seventh year in the league, averaging 21.4 touches, 113.7 yards, and 0.6 touchdowns per game since taking over as the team’s starting running back in 2006. That’s consistency. While Gore hasn’t played a full 16-game slate since 2006, he generally only misses a game or two per season. That’s not a bad trade-off to have such a highly consistent, workhorse back in your fantasy lineup.
FF Today's Take:What? This must be a misprint! With Gore's running style, it is hard to believe that he is not injured in some way. Just last week, Coach Jim Harbaugh limited his touches against Arizona because of a variety of ailments. The fact that Gore is absent from the injury report is extremely positive for Gore owners and the 49ers ahead of their showdown with Pittsburgh on Monday night.
Frank Gore limited in practice-- Tue Nov 22 9:00 pm -- Knee and ankle injuries forces 49ers RB to rest Tuesday
FF Today's Take:Not much of a concern here. It appears as though Gore was held out to rest his banged up body. Gore is expected to start in a tough matchup on Thanksgiving Day.
Frank Gore on track to play this week-- Thu Nov 17 8:05 pm -- Knee injury won't keep 49ers RB out of action
Frank Gore said his day off WED was due more rest-related than injury-related. Said he hyperextended knee vs. NY. Said he'd practice today.(Matt Barrows on Twitter)
FF Today's Take:Gore is a warrior and expects to play this week despite hyperextending his knee last week. He missed practice yesterday to rest but did practice today. Gore has been on a tear and is expected to post solid numbers again this week.
Frank Gore feeles better-- Thu Nov 10 7:35 pm -- 49ers RB appears good to go for Sunday
Running back Frank Gore was upbeat Thursday at his locker prior to 49ers practice, saying he feels much better than he did earlier this week. He will be listed as questionable with an ankle sprain.
(CSN Bay Area)
FF Today's Take:Good news out of San Francisco - Gore feels as good as he has in a while. Sunday' matchup against the Giants is fairly juicy so expect good numbers for Gore.
Gore should be OK for this weekend-- Tue Nov 8 6:20 pm -- Ankle sprain shouldn't keep Gore out of action
Running back Frank Gore had an X-ray on his left ankle after the 49ers' 19-11 win over the Washington Redskins, but said Monday he should be good for Sunday's game against the New York Giants.
(Sacramento Bee)
FF Today's Take:Gore looks good to go for his sixth straight 100-yard rushing game this weekend against the Giants. X-rays were negative and Coach Jim Harbaugh stated the he "Talked to Frank (on Monday) and X-rays were good and Frank was feeling good. He's feeling like Frank".
