Reggie Wayne re-signs with Colts-- Tue Mar 13 8:00 pm -- Three-year, $17.5 million contract
The Indianapolis Colts and representatives of 11-year veteran and five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Reggie Wayne agreed to a three-year deal Tuesday night, only hours after his contract lapsed and he became a free agent. With the Colts keeping Wayne that would provide Luck with a steady hand and savvy head working on the outside.(Indianapolis Star)
FF Today's Take:With Garcon moving on to Washington the Colts were in danger losing their top two wideouts from 2011. Wayne will be one of the few veterans sticking around Indianapolis in the post-Manning era.
Wayne to follow Manning?-- Thu Mar 8 1:30 pm -- WR calls playing with old friend in Miami a "story book ending"
Reggie Wayne thinks ending his career with the Miami Dolphins, winning a Super Bowl with Peyton Manning as his quarterback, would be a “story book ending.” That’s what the soon-to-be free agent told WQAM’s (560-AM) The Michael Irvin Show on Wednesday, just minutes before Manning got released by the Indianapolis Colts. As the Sun-Sentinel reported earlier Wednesday, Wayne is open to signing with the Dolphins, and views a receiver tandem that features him and Brandon Marshall as a force in the AFC East, if not the NFL, adding, "the league might not want that."(Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel)
FF Today's Take:Hypothetically, a healthy Peyton Manning with Marshall and Wayne as the wideouts would have all the makings of a prolific passing offense. Unfortunately for the Dolphins, they aren't the only team suiting Manning.
