Hines blazing 4.38 40-yard dash at the NFL combine brought him onto the national radar, but it's his unique prospect profile that makes him an interesting fantasy option with the Colts. Hines began his college career as a WR and shifted into a versatile RB role that included a season with 43 receptions for over 500 yards receiving. For his career, he accumulated 89 receptions and 933 yards.

There's no question about whether he'll be fast enough to play at the next level and if he can translate that into a receiving role, it could be gold. In 2017, the Colts targeted their running backs more than 80 times and in 2016, during Luck's last healthy season, he targeted the RB over 100 times. Particularly in a PPR format, this could be a valuable role for fantasy particularly with new head coach, Frank Reich, who spent two seasons coaching Darren Sproles. In standard formats, Hines is easy to leave behind, but he should be stashed in PPR formats because his athletic profile gives him a very high ceiling.

Injury Jack Doyle, Marlon Mack out for Week 3
Eric Ebron becomes viable TE1
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Sep 21, 1:04 pm

Indianapolis Colts
The following are OUT for Sunday. DT/DE Denico Autry T Anthony Castonzo TE Jack Doyle RB Marlon Mack DT Hassan Ridgeway CB Quincy Wilson (Jim Irsay on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Straight from the owners mouth. The loss of Doyle vaults Eric Ebron into a viable TE1 option against the Eagles. Ebron has played a fraction of the snaps of Dolye through two weeks, but Ebron should be on the field more the majority of snaps in Week 3. The Colts running game gets narrowed to Jordan Wilkins and Nyheim Hines but it's difficult to trust either back as anything more than a flex option.

Injury No practice for Marlon Mack on Wednesday
Hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Sep 5, 10:51 am

Indianapolis Colts
Reich: Marlon Mack won't practice today. Again, not good news (Mike Chappell on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Mack has been dealing with a hamstring injury since August 9th and at this point it seems unlikely that he will play against the Bengals in Week 1. Jordan Wilkins, Christine Michael and Nyheim Hines should be active. This is a backfield to avoid for fantasy owners.

Marlon Mack not a lock to be ready Week 1
Hamstring injury
By: Doug Orth | Thu Aug 23, 4:50 pm

Indianapolis Colts
Per HC Frank Reich, Marlon Mack (hamstring) is not a "slam dunk" to be ready for the start of the regular season. Next week critical. Needs to practice next week. (Mike Chappell on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: The Colts' preseason plan to rotate running backs this season may still happen, but the names of the players may not be who everyone thought they were going to be. Mack hasn't practiced for two weeks, Nyheim Hines has four fumbles through two preseason games and Jordan Wilkins can't seem to buy first-team reps in exhibition play despite generally looking better than Christine Michael. Mack still should emerge as the lead back, but he's looking more like a low-end flex at this point.

Colts appear headed toward true RBBC
Indy likely content to have different lead back every game
By: Doug Orth | Thu Aug 2, 7:45 pm

Indianapolis Colts
If you’re asking who has the inside track to become the Colts’ starting running back, you’re asking the wrong question. The bigger issue is about who will get the most touches. Even then, that answer could vary from game to game. So far in training camp, it’s varied from day to day. And that’s more of a challenge than you might think for this group of mostly young running backs. The unit includes seventh-year back Robert Turbin and sixth-year player Christine Michael. But it also counts as key members second-year player Marlon Mack and rookies Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins. (The Indianapolis Star)

FFToday's Take: Common sense dictates the two most explosive backs of the bunch - Mack and Hines - will see the most work, but whether the amount of "work" they receive every week will be bankable enough to be a flex option in fantasy is another question. Wilkins is making a push to be considered a co-lead back with Mack, while Hines is almost certain to be the top choice on passing downs. All three should be considered low-end flex options for now.

Robert Turbin suspended 4-games
PED violation
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jun 29, 3:00 pm

Indianapolis Colts
Indianapolis Colts running back Robert Turbin has been suspended for using performance-enhancing drugs, he announced via Twitter on Friday. Turbin will be suspended for four games, a source told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. He will be eligible to return for the Week 5 game at New England on Oct. 4. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Turbin had been running the first team while Marlon Mack has been sidelined with a shoulder injury. The Colts have a largely unproven running back groups and could look to sign a veteran at some point. Nyheim Hines and Jordan Wilkins are both rookies with Christine Michael and Josh Ferguson rounding out the roster. DeMarco Murray and Adrian Peterson are free agents.
