2018 Outlook
Depth Chart
A former junior college transfer who played his final two years of eligibility at Colorado State University, Gallup impressed in his short time in Fort Collins with 176 catches for 2690 yards and 21 touchdowns over 26 games. Gallup averaged just over 15 yards per reception while using his 6'1", 205-pound frame to battle for contested balls.

Although his combine results did not turn any heads (4.51 40-yard dash, 36-inch vertical, & 10 reps on the bench press), the Cowboys used a third-round pick on Gallup to help replace Dez Bryant.

When asked about how much Gallup will contribute as a rookie, Dallas Cowboy owner and president Jerry Jones said the former Ram would have an immediate role. How significant that role has yet to be determined, and veteran Allen Hurns will likely get the first crack at the starting wide receiver opposite of Terrance Williams. However, Gallup's upside makes him an attractive post-10th round pick in all formats.

Michael Gallup making strong early push
Already seeing first-team snaps
By: Doug Orth | Mon Jul 30, 5:55 pm

Dallas Cowboys
Rookie receiver Michael Gallup has already earned his share (of respect) in just a few months on the team. The admiration has continued to build for Gallup as well after only a few training camp practices. In a rare move for Garrett during his Cowboys' tenure, he started camp by giving the rookie some first-team snaps at receiver. Gallup responded right away Saturday by catching a few passes from Dak Prescott during the first padded practice of camp. Gallup has earned the trust of Prescott after a strong offseason that included being the only rookie receiver to join the Cowboys' quarterback in Orlando a few weeks ago for some extra work. (Dallas Morning News)

FFToday's Take: For anyone who has seen college film on Gallup and then taken a look at the Cowboys' depth chart at receiver, this cannot be a surprising development. The only receiver on the depth chart that has a real case to keep the third-round pick off the field is Allen Hurns, and a real possibility exists Gallup could pass him for top receiver status sometime this year. The rookie stands a great chance at outperforming his current 12th-round ADP.

Cowboys remain confident in Tavon Austin
Poised to be "key part" of offense
By: Doug Orth | Thu Jul 26, 4:50 pm

Dallas Cowboys
First day of camp and all, but there was a lot of Tavon Austin lining out wide with Cowboys' first team. Scott Linehan made Austin sound like a key part of the offense. (The New Orleans Advocate)

FFToday's Take: While there is theoretical opportunity in Dallas at receiver, Allen Hurns would seem to be locked into one spot. The Cowboys would be crazy to block rookie Michael Gallup from significant snaps as soon as he's ready, so either Cole Beasley or Terrance Williams will have to take the hit if this is Austin is going to be a thing this year. Dallas has been reluctant to move away from either player. Thus, Austin remains more of a late-round wild-card fantasy pick than a potential flex option.
