2018 Outlook
Depth Chart
I'm sure there were a few season long league champions that had Smith-Schuster on their roster. Likely a draft flier or free agent add, the wonderkid (he just turned 21) from USC was one of fantasy's biggest surprises in 2017. As long as 3rd or 4th on the receiver depth chart to start the year, JuJu quickly ascended into the starting lineup after injuries and suspensions to those above him. He did what was asked of him and more, showing a polished all-around game, and quickly became a big part of the weekly game plan.

Smith-Schuster won't be sneaking up on anyone in 2018, and that includes the other teams in your league. He'll command a WR2 price tag, as he possesses a fantastic floor. He has the ability to stack yardage and touchdowns, and with Brown on the field, will never see a double team. Putting tons of faith in a young player with only a year's worth of production is risky, but I think he's a perfect fit in this offense, and gives the Steelers insurance as he could step up into the No.1 role should Brown go down. This passing offense has long proven able to sustain multiple fantasy stars, and I think the hyphenated one has what it takes to build off his successful rookie campaign. He's exactly the sort of player I look for in a No.2 WR, and that's what you need to be willing to pay.

Releasing Antonio Brown not an option for PIT
Team president: "All other options are on the table"
By: Doug Orth | Thu Jan 10, 7:00 pm

Pittburgh Steelers
Steelers President Art Rooney II said Thursday the team is not going to release Antonio Brown, but “all other options are on the table” following the wide receiver’s insubordinate behavior before and after the final regular-season game against the Cincinnati Bengals. He even went so far as to say it would be “hard to envision” Brown being with the Steelers when they report to training camp in July. Nobody in an official capacity with the Steelers has spoken with the seven-time Pro Bowl receiver since he left Heinz Field shortly after the game against the Bengals began (in Week 17). Brown has refused to return repeated phone calls from Rooney and coach Mike Tomlin. (Pittsburgh Post-Gazette)

FFToday's Take: What first appeared to be a bit of a tantrum during a Week 17 practice now looks like it will result in Brown having played his final snaps as a Steeler. Rooney appears willing to figure out what has upset Brown, and Pittsburgh can't officially move him until at least March 13. Brown is due a $2.5 million roster bonus on March 17, so that would seem to be the window for a trade. JuJu Smith-Schuster figures to become a high-end fantasy WR should Brown get dealt.

Injury Antonio Brown a gametime decision
Doesn't look good
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Dec 29, 11:22 pm

Pittburgh Steelers
Not a lot of optimism that WR Antonio Brown, listed as questionable for Sunday due to knee soreness, will play against the Bengals, per sources. Brown’s knee has not responded well to last week’s game on turf, and he did not take part in Saturday practice. Final decision Sunday. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It sounds like Brown is trending toward being on the inactive list but we won't know for sure until pre-game warmups. Unfortunately for fantasy owners the Steelers play at 4:25 pm Eastern. If Brown sits, JuJu Smith-Schuster will be locked into a premium role.

Injury JuJu says he's playing
Groin injury
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Dec 22, 12:15 pm

Pittburgh Steelers
A lot on the line this week. The whole season comes down to this. Yes, I’m talking about the fantasy football championship round. Of course I’m playing Sunday!!! Theres no way I can let down the real ones who believed in me by drafting me!! Let’s get it!! (JuJu Smith-Schuster on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: JuJu Smith-Schuster took to Twitter to announce he is going to play in Week 16. He left practice early on Thursday with a groin injury and didn't practice on Friday. It remains to be seen if he will be limited in any fashion but fantasy owners can feel somewhat comfortable starting him against the Saints.

FFToday's Take: The dreaded mid-week addition to the injury report. According to teammate James Washington, the expectation is Smith-Schuster will still play versus the Saints in Week 16. Nevertheless, this is one to keep an eye on heading into the weekend. If Smith-Schuster is unable to go, Antonio Brown would be in line for a huge target share, while Washington would have a good matchup and could be worth starting in some deeper leagues.
