| A talented and physical running back that set the NCAA single-season rushing record (427 yards) in 2014, Perine landed in an interesting spot behind Rob Kelley in the Redskins backfield. With a comparison of Michael Turner by some NFL scouts, Perine does not have the shiftiness of a Le'Veon Bell or the burst of a young Adrian Peterson, but he is a powerful runner similar to Kelley that will fit will in Jay Gruden's rushing scheme. He's the favorite to spell Kelley on early downs and has an outside shot to take over the starting role at some point during the season.
Perine is active

Redskins inactives: WR Maurice Harris, S DeAngelo Hall, LB Ryan Anderson, LB Zach Brown, OL Kyle Kalis, C Demetrius Rhaney and RB Kenny Hilliard. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: The excitement over Kapri Bibbs against his former team from the fantasy community will be squashed now that Samaje Perine is active. Bibbs will have a role but won't dominate the backfield touches unless Perine re-aggravates his injury.
Samaje Perine a gametime decision
Groin injury suffered in practice Thursday

#Redskins RB Samaje Perine (groin) is considered a game-time decision to play today. Either way, expect a lot of RB Kapri Bibbs against his former team, the #Broncos. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)
FFToday's Take: Perine left Thursday's practice with a groin injury and missed Friday's session. Even if he plays he won't be much of a fantasy option given Rapoport's suggestion that Bibbs will be involved in the gameplan.
Perine leaves practice with groin injury
Status unclear for Sunday

Samaje Perine tweaked his groin during the early part of practice and sat out the rest of the day. Coach Jay Gruden said he thought it was a minor issue, but did not know yet what it means for Sunday. (ESPN)
FFToday's Take: The "minor" groin injury leaves Perine's status in question for Sunday against the Broncos. If Perine were to sit Kapri Bibbs and LeShun Daniels Jr. would likely handle the running back workload in Week 16.
