| Marlon Mack has a Darren Sproles skill set that the Colts will likely deploy all over the field. He should be fun to follow this preseason but it's unlikely that he will slide into consistent carries in his rookie campaign. Mack's ability to catch the ball out of the backfield could force 2016 UDFA Josh Ferguson off the roster prior to the season. Ferguson attempted to fill the pass catching role in Indy but lacks the vision and explosiveness this offense wants from a multi-dimensional running back.
Pagano: Marlon Mack still a work in progress
Missed time due to injury main cause to limit workload for now

HC Chuck Pagano: Marlon Mack has missed some time so not ready to be an every down or third-down back. Work in progress. (WTHR - Bob Kravitz)
FFToday's Take: There is no question Mack is electric, but Pagano likely wants him to learn to be a more disciplined runner. To that end, the rookie has been held to three yards or fewer on 18 of his 25 runs. Nevertheless, Pagano is going to have a hard time maintaining his current stance on Mack if Frank Gore continues to average 3.2 yards per carry. Mack is definitely worth a stash in leagues of all sizes, as his role only figures to grown from here on out.
Marlon Mack poised for bigger role?
Rookie RB erupted for 91 yards rushing in Week 5

HC Chuck Pagano: "I think it would be wise to try to find ways to get (Marlon Mack) the football and get him more involved." (CNHI Sports Indiana)
FFToday's Take: Mack had been sidelined by a shoulder injury since Week 2, but he did not appear to miss a beat against San Francisco in Week 5. The rookie is highly unlikely to force Frank Gore out of the lineup, but a true split backfield seems the most likely resolution for a team that wants to reduce Gore's workload. Nevertheless, Mack should be added in leagues this week and could be a serviceable flex option in Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans.
