|If you had Alvin Kamara on your roster in 2017, congratulations on your number one seed in the playoffs. Unfortunately, his injury in Week 14 probably cost you in your run to the championship. But that's in the past and now there's even more reason to love Kamara in 2018.
How efficient was Alvin Kamara in 2017? Since 1970, there have only been 11 seasons where a player had at least 120 rush attempts with an average over 6 yards per carry and four of those seasons were by quarterbacks. When you add in his 13 touchdowns, it's clear to see why he became such a star during his rookie year.
It's unlikely that Kamara will maintain this level of efficiency, but he should see an increase in volume in 2018 to make up for any drop off. Because his ADP will hover around the top 6 picks of most drafts, he won't be the same level of league winner that he was in 2017, but instead, he'll be a cornerstone pick that drafters can rely on.
|Saints waive rookie RB Boston Scott|
Saints with only 2 RBs for Week 1

|The Saints waived rookie RB Boston Scott, per source. Pretty shocking move. (John Katzenstein on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: This move leaves the Saints with just two RBs heading into Week 1 - Alvin Kamara and Mike Gillislee. Scott had been working on special teams and by all accounts had impressed in his time with the offense. Gillislee is now a flex option against the Bucs.
|Jonathan Williams making a move?|
RB could be poised to replace Mark Ingram during his suspension
By: Doug Orth | Mon Aug 13, 5:40 pm
|Mark Ingram isn’t making it easy to forget that he will be suspended for the first four games of the season. It seems like he has a carry every day that makes you take note of his presence on the field. He just moves differently than the guys contending to fill in for him. As far as that battle goes, it looks like Jonathan Williams is making a run up the depth chart. Hopefully, he gets a chance to play against Arizona’s starters so we can find out how good he really is. (The New Orleans Advocate)|
FFToday's Take: HC Sean Payton has stated multiple times he does not expect Alvin Kamara's workload to increase much during Ingram's absence, leaving the door for someone like Williams to get some solid playing time in September. It's not inconceivable someone with as much talent as Williams could impress enough during Ingram's absence to carve out a bit of a role for himself even after Ingram returns. Still, he's a late-round lottery ticket in deeper leagues at best.
