2017 Outlook
Depth Chart
The hype surrounding Leonard Fournette in fantasy circles seems to grow by the minute. Few players possess the size, speed and power and the early comparisons to players such as Adrian Peterson and Fred Taylor have created lofty expectations. The success of Ezekiel Elliott last year shows just how valuable an all purpose power back can be in a fantasy landscape riddled with RBBCs. Competition for carries comes in the form of the team's two most recent attempts at finding a lead rusher, Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon. While both players will have a role in the offense, neither will prevent Fournette from ascending to the top of the depth chart sooner rather than later. Not known for his receiving skills, Jacksonville's rookie horse has received passing grades on his hands during OTAs. Forecasting a few receptions into his early projections makes the former LSU Tiger an appealing fantasy running back with rare double-digit touchdown potential. Early drafters may be able to snatch him up in the middle of the second round but his value may climb to late first round status if he performs well in the preseason.

Jaguars release RB Chris Ivory
$3.6 million saved against the salary cap
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Feb 23, 11:50 am

Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars are done with Chris Ivory. The team on Friday released the veteran running back after two up-and-down seasons in Jacksonville, saving the team $3.6 million in salary-cap room, per OverTheCap.com. (NFL.com)

FFToday's Take: While Ivory worked as the backup running back behind Leonard Fournette, he fell out of favor toward the end of last season as T.J. Yeldon and Corey Grant became preferred options. Ivory saw 17 carries in Week 15 but registered just one carry the remaining of the regular season and through the playoffs. Ivory will turn 30 on March 22nd.

Injury Fournette limited in practice all week
Not listed on injury report
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Jan 19, 4:00 pm

Jacksonville Jaguars
If Leonard Fournette’s ankle allows him to play with the power he showed early on against Pittsburgh, he is tough to contain. The key is his health. Before his injury last week, Fournette gained 5, 2, 5, 1 (TD), 10, 6, 18 (TD), 5, 16, 8, 4, 2 yards. After returning from his injury, he gained 4, 1, 0, 0, 2, 3 (TD), 2, 3, 1, 2, 1, 3, 5 yards. (Florida Times Union)

FFToday's Take: It appeared Fournette was slowed a bit after injuring his ankle against the Steelers. It's a good sign that not he's not listed on the injury report but how effective he will be remains a big question. T.J. Yeldon could see increased snaps if Fournette is limited or the Jaguars get behind early.

Fournette uninjured after minor car crash
Expected to practice Wednesday
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Jan 17, 10:37 am

Jacksonville Jaguars
Jacksonville Jaguars rookie running back Leonard Fournette was uninjured after being involved in a minor car crash Tuesday, the team announced. According to Sgt. Dylan Bryan from Florida Highway Patrol, Fournette was rear-ended during a three-car, chain-reaction collision. He was not at fault in the crash, and he drove home after the incident. Fournette, who's also battling an ankle injury, is expected to participate in practice Wednesday, according to NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport. It's a positive development for his availability in Sunday's AFC title game. (NFL.com)

FFToday's Take: Leonard Fournette and the Jags will be ready to go for this weekend's AFC Championship. Jacksonville's rookie running back was instrumental to their upset of the Steelers a week ago and will be the focal point of the offense once again against New England.

Injury Leonard Fournette practicing Wednesday
Quad
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Dec 20, 11:06 am

Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars didn’t need running back Leonard Fournette in the lineup to rout the Texans last weekend, but they’d prefer the rookie be healthy enough to play even if they have other ways to beat their opponents. Fournette appears to be on track to get to that point. Fournette’s not on the list of players set to sit out of practice on Wednesday after he missed all of last week’s work with the quad injury that also kept him out of the lineup against Houston (ProFootballTalk)

FFToday's Take: This is good news for the Jags, but doubt still remains for Leonard Fournette owners. Jacksonville's primary concern is getting ready for a playoff run and that may lead to a more cautious approach with their rookie running back down the stretch. Chris Ivory rushed for 42 yards on 17 carries in Week 15 and should continue to have a role in the rushing game even if Fournette returns to the lineup in this weekend's road matchup with the 49ers.

Injury Fournette out with quad injury
Chris Ivory, T.J. Yeldon in play for Week 15
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Dec 16, 8:00 pm

Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette will not play against Houston on Sunday, a league source told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. Fournette did not practice all week because of a quad injury. He also is still dealing with an ankle injury. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Fournette missed practice all week, so it's not much of a surprise that he will miss Week 15. In his absence, Chris Ivory and T.J. Yeldon will handle the backfield duties against the Texans. There's no clear indication on who the lead back will be but Ivory will likely get the first crack to make an impact.

Injury Fournette missed practice Friday
Didn't practice all week with quad injury
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 15, 11:40 am

Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette missed his third straight day of practice today due to his quad injury. No practice all week. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Fournette missed practice all week making him a true question mark for Sunday's game against the Texans. The Jaguars may take a cautionary approach thinking they can beat Houston with T.J. Yeldon and Chris Ivory at running back. We should get more updates on Fournette's status over the weekend.
