2018 Outlook
Depth Chart
After investing a high draft pick on Fournette, the Jaguars' organization brought with it a seeming change in offensive philosophy. Gone are the days of Blake Bortles being among the league leaders in pass attempts. Instead, they shift to a run-first offense centered on positive game scripts for Fournette. Despite playing in only 13 games, Fournette finished 7th in total rushing attempts and 8th in rushing yards. On a points per game basis, Fournette finished behind only Todd Gurley, Ezekiel Elliott, Le'Veon Bell, and Kareem Hunt.

As a fantasy asset, Fournette was a star early last season and even as his production slipped, he remained a reliable option through 2017. Fournette's start was near historic as he scored at least one touchdown in each of his first six games before succumbing to an injury and missing time during the middle of the year. All in all, he finished with ten scores on the year.

With a deep RB draft class, many veteran RBs were in jeopardy, but for obvious reasons, that wasn't the case for Fournette. After an appearance in the AFC Championship game, the Jaguars largely chose to stand pat at the position in the off-season which indicates another big volume season for Fournette. He should be a top 12 pick in leagues and owners can feel confident that he'll receive enough volume to have a strong chance to be a RB1 in 2018.

Doug Marrone, Leonard Fournette clear the air
A bumpy 2018 season for the Jags starting running back
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Jan 17, 7:00 am

Jacksonville Jaguars
Doug Marrone is optimistic about Leonard Fournette. “We had a good meeting. I’m not going to speak for Leonard, but when he left that meeting ... I think he’s in a really good place. That’s encouraging and I’m excited about that.” “We just talked: where we’re going, where we want to go, what we want to do,” Marrone said. “We set out a plan, and I feel good about it.” (Jaguars.com)

FFToday's Take: Fournette missed 7 games this season mostly due to a hamstring injury but also didn't do himself any favors at times by involving himself in a fight against Buffalo in Week 12 which drew the wrath of Tom Coughlin. For what it's worth, Terry Robiskie has replaced Tyrone Wheatley as the team's running back coach. Given what transpired this past season and his injury history, it will be difficult for fantasy owners to trust Fournette as anything other than a RB2 heading into 2019.

Jags, Fournette "headed in the right direction"
Team, RB clear the air about disappointing 2018
By: Doug Orth | Thu Jan 10, 6:45 pm

Jacksonville Jaguars
Sources: RB Leonard Fournette met executive VP Tom Coughlin and the rest of the team’s brass to clear the air and move forward together for 2019, sources say. Sounds like it went well for both sides and things are headed in the right direction. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Fournette's last transgression was not sitting on the bench the way Coughlin would have preferred in Week 17, but this meeting most likely had to do with his propensity for missing games and lack of conditioning when he did play in 2018. It would not be a surprise if Fournette slips into the third round of drafts this summer, mostly because his durability continues to be an issue. With that said, few backs possess his combination of expected workload and talent.

Injury Leonard Fournette doubtful
Foot, ankle injury
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 28, 11:45 am

Jacksonville Jaguars
Did not see Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette during the open media viewing portion of Friday's practice. He did not practice on Thursday because of a foot/ankle injury. Not a good sign for his availability on Sunday at Houston. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Fournette is going to miss the season finale and Carlos Hyde is questionable with a knee injury. If Hyde misses, David Williams and T.J. Yeldon would likely split the workload against the Texans.

Injury Leonard Fournette to be limited in practice
Foot injury

Marrone says Leonard Fournette will be limited this week with a foot injury. (Zach Goodall on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Fournette and Marrone both said it was part of the game plan in Week 15 to give rookie David Williams more playing time, but this report would seem to suggest otherwise. Last year's No. 4 overall pick received only one second-half carry in Week 16, and he returned to the sidelines after busting loose for a 25-yard gain. This development only clouds the picture further for Fournette in what would otherwise be a wonderful matchup against the Dolphins this week.

Leonard Fournette suspended one game
League bans RB for throwing punches in Week 12 loss
By: Doug Orth | Mon Nov 26, 7:35 pm

Jacksonville Jaguars
Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette has been suspended one game for violations of unsportsmanlike conduct and unnecessary roughness. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: It's another blow for the few remaining teams that were able to survive Fournette's earlier absence due to his injured hamstring. T.J. Yeldon and Carlos Hyde figure to form a committee in the likely event Fournette doesn't win his appeal. Yeldon will be the preferred play, if only because the Jaguars figure to be in negative game script against the Colts in Week 13.

Injury Leonard Fournette not listed on injury report
Practiced in full this week
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 9, 1:10 pm

Jacksonville Jaguars
#Jaguars RB Leonard Fournette (hamstring) practiced fully again Friday and has no injury status for Sunday's game, so he's ready to go. CB A.J. Bouye (calf) is out. (Adam Caplan on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Fournette is expected to play this week and should be a full go given he's not on the injury report. Indianapolis has only given up three rushing touchdowns to running backs this season.
