2017 Outlook
Depth Chart
Tennessee selected Corey Davis with the fifth overall pick with every intention of making him a franchise player to help Marcus Mariota and the Titans advance to the next level. His outlook in dynasty leagues is promising as the Titans build a core of talent at the skill positions. In 2017, however, the expectations of Davis making an immediate impact remain lower than some fantasy owners may want to believe. The team's choice to bring in Eric Decker moves Davis down the depth chart where the youngster has a chance to develop without being relied on as a starter. He's going to be exciting to watch develop but being buried on the depth chart for a team that runs the ball more than almost every team in the league won't translate into success. The ankle injury appears to be behind him so fantasy owners should expect a healthy Davis when training camp arrives. He's a late round flyer in deep formats where an injury (or two) may give him enough opportunity to be a short term fantasy asset in his rookie season. Last year's rookie receiver, Tajae Sharpe, struggled after a solid start to his pro career and is now recovering from foot surgery. With more competition on the roster and health concerns, he may struggle to stay with the team.

Injury Corey Davis eyeing Week 9 return?
Titans' first-round pick expects to practice after bye
By: Doug Orth | Mon Oct 23, 10:00 pm

Tennessee Titans

FFToday's Take: The No. 5 overall pick teased owners with his amazing potential in Week 1 before aggravating his hamstring injury. He has been sidelined since. The Titans did not hesitate plugging him into the lineup despite limited preseason action in the opener, and Tennessee's current wideouts outside of Rishard Matthews haven't done a lot to keep them from doing so if he is cleared to play next week. Davis could very well be a second-half fantasy superstar if he can stay healthy.

Injury No change in status for Corey Davis
Already ruled out for Week 5 with hamstring injury

FFToday's Take: It's never a good sign when a player is ruled out this far ahead of the team's next game and suggests he's at least another week or two away from returning. The Titans have yet to see their upgraded receiving corps, as Davis have seemingly been recovering from injuries since he was drafted and Eric Decker spent most of the offseason sidelined as well. Deep-league owners are advised to hold, but others may need to part ways if the bye-week crunch becomes too much.

Injury DeMarco Murray, Corey Davis day-to-day
Hamstring injuries

FFToday's Take: While it appears the Derrick Henry era is about to begin in Tennessee, owners should pump the breaks just a bit, especially with Seattle and Houston coming up next. Murray had an 8-2 advantage in touches before half and enjoyed a 37-30 edge in snaps despite barely playing after the break. It does seem as though Murray would be well-served by sitting out a week or two, however, so Henry would be worth a fantasy start should that end up being the case.

Corey Davis to see spot work in opener
No snap count in Week 1 but will see use in "specific situations"
By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 4, 4:30 pm

Tennessee Titans
HC Mike Mularkey: No snap number count. Will use Corey Davis in specific situations against the Oakland Raiders. (Paul Kuharsky)

FFToday's Take: Given the fact Davis was limited for most of the offseason as he recovered from ankle surgery and missed most of the preseason due to a hamstring injury, it may take a bit for him to get rolling. Nevertheless, his talent is the kind owners want to stash as a WR4 in leagues, because the Titans obviously want him to be a key part of their offense given how he has remained a starter throughout the whole process. Eric Decker and Rishard Matthews should start Week 1.

Injury Corey Davis expected ready for Week 1
Rookie WR's hamstring issue shouldn't keep him out of opener
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Aug 29, 10:40 am

Tennessee Titans
Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) on Twitter: "With the season looming, health questions come into focus. For #Titans, WR Corey Davis (hamstring) is expected to be ready for the opener" (Twitter)

FFToday's Take: This is great news for folks who took late-round shot on Davis in fantasy drafts. Expect some struggles for the rookie receiver, but some possible upside as he establishes a connection with Marcus Mariota.

Injury Corey Davis unlikely to see preseason action
Rookie WR has not practiced in three weeks
By: Doug Orth | Thu Aug 24, 5:30 pm

Tennessee Titans
Corey Davis will be evaluated after Sunday's game to see how he is in his recovery from hamstring. (Titan Insider - Terry McCormick)

FFToday's Take: Davis ran with the first-team offense at the start of training camp but has been sidelined since Aug. 3. Regardless of whether or not Davis is cleared next week, he's highly unlikely to see action in the final preseason game considering how little practice he's had and how much the Titans just want him to get healthy. He's a WR4 with huge upside in fantasy, but asking for early production is a huge stretch at this point.
