| Julio Jones won't practice, Tevin Coleman limited |
Falcons' dealing with injuries heading into Week 16
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Dec 20, 12:30 pm
|The Falcons are on a short week after facing the Buccaneers on Monday night and they won’t be pushing wide receiver Julio Jones too hard on the practice field. Falcons coach Dan Quinn said on Wednesday that Jones hurt his ankle early in that game and will not take part in Wednesday’s practice. Quinn added that Jones should be limited throughout the week, but there’s no expectation that Jones’ injury will keep him from playing against the Saints this Sunday. Running back Tevin Coleman is expected to practice on a limited basis as he continues to progress through the concussion protocol. (Pro Football Talk)|
FFToday's Take: Atlanta has a big game against the Saints this weekend so it isn't surprising to see Jones getting rest. Meanwhile, Coleman hasn't played since Week 14 but is getting further along in the protocol. He would be a Flex option in deeper formats if given clearance to play this week.

Still time for Coleman to get cleared prior to Monday night's game

FFToday's Take: The Falcons don't play until Monday night so there's still time for Coleman to cleared for Week 15. If Coleman does sit, Terron Ward would backup Devonta Freeman.

Falcons running back set to return after two games

|Devonta Freeman (concussion) has cleared protocol and returned to practice Wednesday, head coach Dan Quinn announced while making an apparance on 92.9 WZGC-FM. (NFL.com)|
FFToday's Take: After two long weeks, it looks like Devonta Freeman's fantasy owners will have their lead rusher available for Week 13. Freeman's return means Tevin Coleman's run as the primary ball carrier will come to an end making him a Flex option moving forward.

Freeman to miss second game with concussion

FFToday's Take: This will be the second straight game Freeman has missed due to a concussion. In last week's game Tevin Coleman got the start rushing for 43 yards on 20 attempts with 1 TD. The Buccaneers have allowed the 10th most fantasy points to running backs. Terron Ward will backup Coleman.
| Devonta Freeman logs limited practice Thursday|
RB still in concussion protocol

FFToday's Take: Given the fact he is recovering from his second concussion in four months, it seems likely he'll be held out another week. With that said, getting in a limited session Thursday does leave the door open for him to return for Week 12 versus the Tampa Bay Bucs. If he goes, he's a high-end RB2 and Tevin Coleman will be a high-upside flex. If Freeman doesn't play, Tevin Coleman is a solid RB2 option.
| Devonta Freeman not practicing|
Still in concussion protocol
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Nov 22, 12:40 pm
|Falcons head coach Dan Quinn said that Freeman remains in the NFL's concussion protocol and won't practice Wednesday, Vaughn McClure of ESPN.com reports.
It appears Freeman hasn't made much notable progress in his recovery since entering the protocol following his early departure in the first quarter of the Falcons' Week 10 win over the Cowboys.
FFToday's Take: Devonta Freeman reportedly feels good enough to play but he will first need to clear protocol before fantasy owners can pencil him into their week 12 lineups. Consider him day-to-day and monitor his status heading into the weekend. Tevin Coleman will continue to see extra reps in practice and would be in line for another start should Freeman remain sidelined.
| Devonta Freeman unlikely to play Week 11|
Second concussion of the season
By: Doug Orth | Mon Nov 13, 10:10 am
|Falcons RB Devonta Freeman is unlikely to play next Monday night at Seattle against Seahawks after suffering his second concussion of his season, per @mortreport and me. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Freeman left early in Week 10 with a concussion after just two carries and 3 yards. His absence will mean more work for Tevin Coleman against the Seahawks with Terron Ward soaking up backup duties. Ward saw 9 carries against the Cowboys in Week 10.
