|Leaving the talent laden Eagles for a chance at consistent playing time in Chicago, Burton gives the Bears a plus athlete and route runner at a position of need in the offense. Head coach and OC Matt Nagy bring a very tight end friendly scheme to the Windy City, a system that has turned Travis Kelce into a star. Burton, the 5th year player out of Florida made the most of his starts last season filling in for the injured Zach Ertz. In the two games Ertz missed, Burton tallied 112 yards and three scores. The Eagle offense is a hybrid of the system Nagy ran in Kansas City (from the Andy Reid coaching tree) so you know that Burton is guaranteed to be a big part of the weekly game plan. He has the size and speed to be a match-up problem, and he has a young quarterback that can and will work the middle of the field. Because you can see the breakout from a mile away, it would be a major disappointment if Burton isn't a top-12 tight end this season. He's a great bet to surpass his career totals during his first year in Chicago, and this is a fantasy position worth gambling on upside.
| Allen Robinson not exepcted to play|
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Oct 27, 11:00 pm
|The Chicago Bears do not expect wide receiver Allen Robinson to play against the New York Jets on Sunday, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Robinson has been listed as questionable for the game while he recovers from a groin injury. He missed practice Wednesday and Thursday and was limited Friday. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: Robinson was limited on Friday but will miss Week 8. With Robinson out, Kevin White and Josh Bellamy should receive more playing time. Neither is a recommended fantasy option. Taylor Gabriel, Anthony Miller and tight end Trey Burton should be the top receiving option for Mitchell Trubisky.
| Anthony Miller out for Week 4|
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Sep 27, 1:30 pm
|#Bears coach Matt Nagy told reporters that up-and-coming WR Anthony Miller (shoulder) doesn’t need surgery at this point. I’m told he’s out this week and is considered week-to-week as far as his status. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Miller hasn't really been a fantasy factor seeing only 11 targets in three games. With Mitchell Trubisky looking like a young in-experienced quarterback, it's difficult trust anyone in the receiving group other than Allen Robinson and TE Trey Burton. Josh Bellamy and Kevin White should see increase snaps with Miller out.
| Sprained foot for TE Adam Shaheen|
No timeline for return
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Aug 21, 5:45 pm
|Bears HC Matt Nagy: Tests on TE Adam Shaheen’s ankle also revealed damage to his right foot. Nagy characterized it as a foot sprain and not a fracture. But no timeline yet on Shaheen’s return. (Rich Campbell on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Shaheen has been having a nice camp, working as the No.2 tight end in a Chicago offense that should be friendly to the position. However, he's best left on the waiver wire given this injury but someone to keep your eye on once he returns to health. Trey Burton is a TE1 candidate in Matt Nagy's offense.
