2015 Outlook
Depth Chart
Mothballed by the Steelers for the first six weeks of the 2014 season, Martavis Bryant was nowhere to be found in the fantasy world. But Bryant quickly made a name for himself starting in Week 7, as he went on to score six touchdowns over his first four NFL games. Following those first few games, Bryant returned to earth, as it was clear his role on the Pittsburgh offense was only as a deep threat, as he averaged just 4.8 targets a game. When he didn’t beat the defense for a long bomb, he probably bombed a few fantasy quads with four scoring games under 5 fantasy points. While Bryant was a boom-bust WR3/4 for most of the second half of the season, he has a legitimate chance to take a step forward in 2015.

With a full offseason to refine his route running, Bryant has fully cemented his place on the outside opposite Antonino Brown. Starting from Week 1, and with an expanded role, Bryant can, and should advance past the “deep threat only stage”, making him a strong bet to double his 26 receptions from a year ago. The touchdown opportunities will be there as his 6’5’’ frame oozes with redzone scoring potential, and he’ll enjoy an up-tempo, high volume passing attack. Bryant has serious break-out potential and makes for amazing value as a WR3, as he could approach WR2 numbers by seasons end.

Injury Martavis Bryant's status for Week 5 in doubt
Teaked knee may keep Steelers WR on sidelines
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Oct 10, 7:00 am

Pittburgh Steelers
Steelers WR Martavis Bryant tweaked knee in practice Monday, per source. Contrary to other reports, this is why he'll likely be inactive. (Ross Jones on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Bryant's four-game suspension is over but it sounds like the Steelers may keep inactive for Monday's game against the Chargers. If Bryant sits, Markus Wheaton would maintain his role as the No.2 wide receiver.

Martavis Bryant facing four-game suspension
Suspension under appeal

Steelers WR Martavis Bryant is facing 4-game suspension for violating Substance Abuse Policy, per league sources. Suspension under appeal. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Markus Wheaton has been running with the first team this preseason and know we know why. Bryant's early 5th-round ADP will certainly take a tumble in the coming days while Wheaton's 10-round ADP will be on the rise. The Steelers will be without Le'Veon Bell and Bryant to start the season.

Injury M. Bryant expected to miss Hall of Fame game
Elbow infection will cause Steelers WR to miss a week to 10 days
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Aug 2, 7:40 pm

Pittburgh Steelers
Martavis Bryant had a procedure Sunday for an infection on his elbow that will likely cause the second-year wide receiver to miss the Hall of Fame preseason opener Sunday night against the Minnesota Vikings. Bryant is expected to be out about a week to 10 days after an ingrown hair became infected, causing his elbow to swell. Coach Mike Tomlin said Bryant “should be back to us sooner than later.” (Pittsburgh Post Gazette)

FFToday's Take: This situation shouldn't be a long-term issue. Bryant has been the second receiver taken in fantasy drafts but a recent quote from QB Ben Roethlisberger suggests Bryant has competition for snaps in two wide receiver sets from Markus Wheaton. Bryant's ADP is likely to slide in the coming week.

Martavis Bryant "going to be a star this year"
Up to 225 pounds with four percent body fat
By: Doug Orth | Mon Jul 27, 6:25 pm

Pittburgh Steelers
Martavis Bryant is going to be a star this year for the Steelers. He looks amazing. Absolutely has made big strides this offseason. (Charles Robinson on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: If you were getting Bryant in the sixth or seventh round of your early drafts, don't expect that to remain the case thanks to Charles Robinson. NFL Media's Albert Breer reported earlier in the day that Bryant added 11 pounds from his rookie season and has four percent body fat. Combined with this most recent tweet from Robinson, expect Robinson to start coming off the board in the late-fourth or early-fifth round.
