| Martavis Bryant added to injury report, illness|
Questionable for Week 6
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Oct 13, 10:00 am
|Raiders have added WR Martavis Bryant (illness) to injury report. He is now questionable to face Seahawks on Sunday in London. (Michael Gehlken on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Bryant is the resident deep threat in the Raiders offense posting 3-91-0 and 3-51-0 lines the last two weeks and seeing about 5 targets per game. The Raiders and Seahawks is being played in London but will start in the early window of games (1 pm Eastern) here in the states, meaning we should know Bryant's status 90 minutes before kickoff.

Head coach calls late throw "too aggressive"
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Sep 25, 12:30 pm
|On Sunday night, Derek Carr defended his decision to throw in the back left corner of the end zone, trying to connect with Martavis Bryant on a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter. He said it was a decision he would make again based on the matchup and Bryant’s ability to secure passes in the air.
Raiders coach Jon Gruden disagreed, especially with the pass coming on first down and other opportunities had that pass fallen incomplete or been thrown away.
“I thought we were too aggressive,” Gruden said in his Monday press conference. “I think at times he is trying too hard. We will talk about that extensively here in the next couple of hours, but I thought he played really good under some very tough circumstances. I think sometimes he needs to learn a little bit more patience, and I think he will. (NBC Sports (Bay Area))|
FFToday's Take: It's actually refreshing to hear a coach publicly disagree with his QB, even if it comes from Gruden, but this portends some possible acrimony in the coming weeks with the Raiders desperately seeking their first win. Carr's job is probably safe because A.J. McCarron is their backup, and he had a dreadful preseason.

Bryant could be facing year-long ban
By: Mike Krueger | Tue Sep 11, 5:00 pm
|Martavis Bryant is re-signing with the Oakland Raiders, who previously released the veteran receiver on roster cutdown day with concerns about a possible league-imposed suspension.
The deal is for one year, a source told ESPN's Dan Graziano. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported over the weekend that Bryant is facing a yearlong ban for his latest violation of the NFL's substance abuse policy. The NFL is reviewing the matter and could issue its ruling as early as this week, a source told Schefter. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: This is a curious move for a receiver with off-field issues and potentially facing a suspension, but John Gruden has made more than a couple curious moves this off-season. The Raiders were focused on the tight in Week 1 as Jared Cook led the position with 180 receiving while starter Amari Cooper saw 3 targets. Bryant's not a fantasy option at this point.
