Arian Foster remains day-to-day
Hamstring injury continues to linger
By: Doug Orth | Thu Oct 2, 5:30 pm

Houston Texans
Arian Foster was held to just six yards on eight carries during a home victory versus the Bills, the first time in Foster’s six-year career he was held to less than one yard per carry. Texans HC Bill O’Brien said Monday that Foster continues to be day-to-day. He was held out of practice Wednesday due to an injured hamstring. Asked if he’ll be a game-time decision against the Cowboys, Foster said he’ll again evaluate his hamstring and then make a decision about his status. (Houston Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: In all likelihood, Foster and his owners are headed towards a third straight game-time decision. Given how he looked against Buffalo, it could be in the Texans' best long-term interest to rest him again and take their chances at beating Dallas with rookie Alfred Blue.

Injury Foster likely game-time decision in Week 4
Limited in practice with hamstring injury
By: Doug Orth | Thu Sep 25, 5:55 pm

Houston Texans
Texans RB Arian Foster was day-to-day with a hamstring injury when the week began and things haven’t progressed all that much. He’s been limited in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday, but it wasn't enough for HC Bill O’Brien to make a decision about Foster’s status for Sunday’s game against the Bills. O’Brien said, via the team, that he was expecting to make a game-time decision about whether Foster will be inactive for a second straight week. (Pro Football Talk)

FFToday's Take: Alfred Blue did about as much as could be expected in Week 3 in place of Foster and would be likely in line for another 15-18 touches if the veteran back is sidelined again versus the Bills. The rookie would probably even make a decent flex play if Foster plays, since the three-time Pro Bowler would likely be limited.

Injury Foster's hamstring issue is recurring injury
Alfred Blue looking more important as handcuff
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Sep 23, 10:22 am

Houston Texans
Texans running back Arian Foster couldn’t say he’d definitely be ready to return against Buffalo Sunday, admitting the nature of hamstring injuries leaves him no choice but to take it “day by day” when the team returns to practice Wednesday. Foster worked out before the game at MetLife Stadium and admitted his leg felt “really good” but “obviously” not good enough for him to take the chance of making what already seems to be a chronic injury worse. Foster was replaced by rookie Alfred Blue, whose 13 rushes for 78 yards included a 46-yard scamper that set up one of the Texans’ two touchdowns. (Houston Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: “It’s my hamstring’s call,” is another telling quote from Foster that likely means the recurring soft-tissue injury will nag him all season -- and force Blue into significant action in the coming weeks. If Blue is somehow still available on your league's waiver wire, he's a must-own heading into Week 4.

Injury Arian Foster "day-to-day" ahead of Week 4
Hamstring has RB unsure about status vs. Buffalo
By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 22, 3:20 pm

Houston Texans
The Texans played without RB Arian Foster on Sunday because they didn’t feel Foster’s hamstring was up to facing the Giants. On Monday, Foster said that his hamstring felt “good” while working out on Sunday although it obviously wasn’t good enough to allay any fears that the team might have had about his condition. While he felt good on Sunday, he wasn’t making any overly optimistic predictions for this week’s game. Foster described himself as “day-to-day,”. (Pro Football Talk)

FFToday's Take: Foster's unwillingness to proclaim his readiness for Week 4 means rookie Alfred Blue could be in line for another start against Buffalo. The Bills just got done holding the Chargers' Donald Brown to 62 rushing yards on 31 carries and ranks sixth in the league in run defense, meaning it could be another long day for the Texans on the ground again.

Injury Arian Foster Inactive
Alfred Blue expected to start

FFToday's Take: With Foster out, expect Alfred Blue to get the start. Jonathan Grimes and Ronnie Brown will also be in the mix. Blue becomes a low-end RB2 candidate against the Giants.

Injury Foster's availability for Week 3 in question
Gametime decision with hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Sep 21, 8:45 am

Houston Texans
Texans running back Arian Foster, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, could sit out a 1 p.m. Sunday game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. The Texans are expected to work out Foster pregame, then make a decision about his status. Foster was limited in practice this week and listed as questionable on the Texans’ final injury report Friday. (Houston Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: Foster came into the season with a balky hamstring and has racked up 55 through two games. If he sits Alfred Blue would get the start and vault into RB2 status for Week 3.

Texans release three running backs
Grimes and Blue will backup Foster
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Aug 11, 7:00 pm

Houston Texans
The Texans have released running backs Andre Brown, Dennis Johnson and Tim Cornett. Brown, 27, was expected to be Arian Foster’s backup this season. Cornett attended North Shore High School and was a longshot to make the team. (Houston Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: Jonathan Grimes and rookie Alfred Blue passed Brown on the depth chart during camp and become the immediate backups to Foster. Grimies rushed for 73 yards, 1 TD and hauled in 6 catches for 76 yards in two games last season.
