Injury Arian Fosters sits Friday, Questionable
Missed practice the last two days
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 21, 3:45 pm

Houston Texans
Texans running back Arian Foster (groin) is officially questionable for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals at NRG Stadium. Foster did not practice twice this week (Thursday, Friday) and was limited Wednesday. Coach Bill O’Brien and Foster didn’t provide any clarity Friday about the back’s status versus the Bengals. Foster missed last Sunday’s victory at Cleveland due to injury. (Houston Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: It's never a good sign when a player misses both Thursday and Friday practices. For now, Foster will be a gametime decision but all signs point to him being inactive. If that happens, Alfred Blue would once again get the start and qualify as an RB2 in Week 12.

Injury Foster expected to share carries in Week 12
Remains day-to-day
By: Doug Orth | Thu Nov 20, 3:30 pm

Houston Texans
Arian Foster (groin) returned to practice Wednesday and is day-to-day heading into Sunday’s matchup against Cincinnati at NRG Stadium. Asked to elaborate about Foster’s status, coach Bill O’Brien didn’t budge. Foster missed the Texans’ Week 11 road victory against Cleveland. “Day-to-day,” O’Brien said. “I like it when all the guys are out there (practicing).” If Foster returns Sunday, he’ll likely share carries with Alfred Blue. (Houston Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: It is widely expected that Foster will return to the field against the Bengals and it is probably in his best long-term interests that he is eased back into things. With that said, Foster has assumed most of the workload even when he has been far less than 100 percent. As a result, don't be surprised if "sharing carries" in Houston this weekend means about a 75:25 split in favor of Foster.

Injury Arian Foster practices Wednesday
Groin injury

Houston Texans
Arian Foster returned to practice today for the Texans. (Houston Texans via Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Foster missed Week 10 with a groin injury. In his place, Alfred Blue rushed for 156 yards on 36 carries. For now, you can pencil Foster into your starting lineup. More updates to come later this week.

Injury Arian Foster officially ruled out, Blue to start
Foster won't make the trip to Cleveland
By: Mike Krueger | Sat Nov 15, 2:30 pm

Houston Texans
Houston Texans star running back Arian Foster has been downgraded to out for Sunday's game against the Cleveland Browns because of a groin injury. Rookie Alfred Blue will start in Foster's place Sunday against Cleveland. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Multiple reports yesterday suggested Foster would not play this week and now it is official. Blue will get the start at running back for the Texans. He'll face a Browns' defense that ranks middle of the pack (17th) in fantasy points allowed to running backs.

Injury Arian Foster very questionable to play
Expected to make trip to Cleveland
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 14, 2:00 pm

Houston Texans
O’Brien hasn’t completely ruled out running back Arian Foster, who will make the trip and work out for the coaches Sunday morning before a final decision is made. Indications are he won’t play because of a groin strain suffered in the Eagles game, but the Texans have listed him as questionable, rather than doubtful, on the official injury report. (Houston Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: Most of the media reports surrounding Foster point him to being on the doubtful side of questionable. Foster owners should expect him to be Inactive on Sunday and be making other plans for their lineup. Alfred Blue would get the start in Foster's absence and be a low-end RB2 against a Cleveland defense that ranks 17th in fantasy points allowed to running backs.

Injury Foster "definitely" a game-time decision
Recovering from Week 9 groin injury
By: Doug Orth | Thu Nov 13, 4:10 pm

Houston Texans
Texans HC Bill O'Brien: Arian Foster is definitely a game-time decision, and we'll work him out before the game. (Drew Dougherty on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: In case it hasn't been said enough already, Alfred Blue needs to be owned in all leagues. The Browns are the Texans' Week 11 opponent and, while they managed to contain Jeremy Hill last week, they still own one of the league's worst rush defenses. The good news is that Browns-Texans is a 1 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday, so owners should know his status an hour or so in advance and be able to make alternate plans if necessary.

Arian Foster expected to play versus Browns
Groin seems okay, but Alfred Blue still a smart add
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Nov 11, 9:40 am

Houston Texans
The Texans should be in good shape physically when they play at Cleveland on Sunday. Cornerback Johnathan Joseph passed the concussion protocol and will start against the Browns. “He was out there today, and he looked good,” coach Bill O’Brien said after practice. The only player the Texans know they’ll be missing is cornerback Kareem Jackson, who suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in his knee against Philadelphia and could miss three games. “The players I mentioned last week are still day-to-day,” O’Brien said. That means running back Arian Foster, inside linebacker Brian Cushing and outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney. Foster and Cushing are expected to play. No one has any idea about Clowney, who continues to experience soreness in his knee. (Houston Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: The Texans are dealing with some important defensive injuries and have benched Ryan Fitzpatrick in favor of the strong-armed Ryan Mallett, who makes his first NFL start. It's hard to say how much the Texans will use Foster in Week 11, so Alfred Blue makes an interesting flex option, and both Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins remain must-play WRs in 12-team leagues.

Injury Foster suffers groin injury in Week 9 loss
Day-to-day, for now
By: Doug Orth | Mon Nov 3, 4:10 pm

Houston Texans
Texans RB Arian Foster left Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles midway through the third quarter after suffering a groin injury. Foster's frustration was evident on the field, as he slammed his helmet onto the ground before heading to the locker room shortly thereafter. A pending MRI will offer more details as to how significant Foster's injury is. (ESPN)

FFToday's Take: Texans insider Drew Dougherty tweeted that HC Bill O'Brien merely said his running back was "day-to-day" on Monday. Houston's bye week couldn't come at a better time for Foster, who has been fantasy's highest-scoring back since missing Week 4 with a hamstring injury. For what it is worth, CBS and NFL Network have already reported the injury was not all that serious. Alfred Blue would be the favorite for 15-plus touches in Week 11 if Foster is still sidelined.

Arian Foster remains day-to-day
Hamstring injury continues to linger
By: Doug Orth | Thu Oct 2, 5:30 pm

Houston Texans
Arian Foster was held to just six yards on eight carries during a home victory versus the Bills, the first time in Foster’s six-year career he was held to less than one yard per carry. Texans HC Bill O’Brien said Monday that Foster continues to be day-to-day. He was held out of practice Wednesday due to an injured hamstring. Asked if he’ll be a game-time decision against the Cowboys, Foster said he’ll again evaluate his hamstring and then make a decision about his status. (Houston Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: In all likelihood, Foster and his owners are headed towards a third straight game-time decision. Given how he looked against Buffalo, it could be in the Texans' best long-term interest to rest him again and take their chances at beating Dallas with rookie Alfred Blue.

Injury Foster likely game-time decision in Week 4
Limited in practice with hamstring injury
By: Doug Orth | Thu Sep 25, 5:55 pm

Houston Texans
Texans RB Arian Foster was day-to-day with a hamstring injury when the week began and things haven’t progressed all that much. He’s been limited in practice on both Wednesday and Thursday, but it wasn't enough for HC Bill O’Brien to make a decision about Foster’s status for Sunday’s game against the Bills. O’Brien said, via the team, that he was expecting to make a game-time decision about whether Foster will be inactive for a second straight week. (Pro Football Talk)

FFToday's Take: Alfred Blue did about as much as could be expected in Week 3 in place of Foster and would be likely in line for another 15-18 touches if the veteran back is sidelined again versus the Bills. The rookie would probably even make a decent flex play if Foster plays, since the three-time Pro Bowler would likely be limited.

Injury Foster's hamstring issue is recurring injury
Alfred Blue looking more important as handcuff
By: Antonio D'Arcangelis | Tue Sep 23, 10:22 am

Houston Texans
Texans running back Arian Foster couldn’t say he’d definitely be ready to return against Buffalo Sunday, admitting the nature of hamstring injuries leaves him no choice but to take it “day by day” when the team returns to practice Wednesday. Foster worked out before the game at MetLife Stadium and admitted his leg felt “really good” but “obviously” not good enough for him to take the chance of making what already seems to be a chronic injury worse. Foster was replaced by rookie Alfred Blue, whose 13 rushes for 78 yards included a 46-yard scamper that set up one of the Texans’ two touchdowns. (Houston Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: “It’s my hamstring’s call,” is another telling quote from Foster that likely means the recurring soft-tissue injury will nag him all season -- and force Blue into significant action in the coming weeks. If Blue is somehow still available on your league's waiver wire, he's a must-own heading into Week 4.

Injury Arian Foster "day-to-day" ahead of Week 4
Hamstring has RB unsure about status vs. Buffalo
By: Doug Orth | Mon Sep 22, 3:20 pm

Houston Texans
The Texans played without RB Arian Foster on Sunday because they didn’t feel Foster’s hamstring was up to facing the Giants. On Monday, Foster said that his hamstring felt “good” while working out on Sunday although it obviously wasn’t good enough to allay any fears that the team might have had about his condition. While he felt good on Sunday, he wasn’t making any overly optimistic predictions for this week’s game. Foster described himself as “day-to-day,”. (Pro Football Talk)

FFToday's Take: Foster's unwillingness to proclaim his readiness for Week 4 means rookie Alfred Blue could be in line for another start against Buffalo. The Bills just got done holding the Chargers' Donald Brown to 62 rushing yards on 31 carries and ranks sixth in the league in run defense, meaning it could be another long day for the Texans on the ground again.

Injury Arian Foster Inactive
Alfred Blue expected to start
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Sep 21, 11:30 am

Houston Texans
Official: Texans' Arian Foster is inactive. (Nick Mathews via Twitter)

FFToday's Take: With Foster out, expect Alfred Blue to get the start. Jonathan Grimes and Ronnie Brown will also be in the mix. Blue becomes a low-end RB2 candidate against the Giants.

Injury Foster's availability for Week 3 in question
Gametime decision with hamstring injury
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Sep 21, 8:45 am

Houston Texans
Texans running back Arian Foster, who is dealing with a hamstring injury, could sit out a 1 p.m. Sunday game against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. The Texans are expected to work out Foster pregame, then make a decision about his status. Foster was limited in practice this week and listed as questionable on the Texans’ final injury report Friday. (Houston Chronicle)

FFToday's Take: Foster came into the season with a balky hamstring and has racked up 55 through two games. If he sits Alfred Blue would get the start and vault into RB2 status for Week 3.
