|Primarily known for his fantasy value as Charles’ handcuff in the Kansas City backfield, Knile Davis showed up and impressed when given the chance in 2014. When Charles went down with a high ankle sprain early in Week 2 , Davis jumped right in and took over the duties as the Chiefs’ primary ball carrier, racking up 28 total touches for 105 total yards in that game. The next week, he continued to roll as he rushed for 132 yards and a touchdown. Charles returned in a Week 4 blowout win over the Patriots, but Davis still got 16 carries for 107 yards. From that point on, Davis primarily saw the field as Charles’ backup, but it’s that type of step-in-and-dominate skill that makes Davis one of, if not the most valuable handcuff in all of fantasy football. Expect more of the same from Davis this season, but understand that Charles does have a long injury history and Davis owners could be one injury away from having a fantasy RB1 on their hands.
| Charcandrick West misses practice Thursday|
Reid optimistic both could play Sunday
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Nov 26, 8:00 pm
|Running back Charcandrick West and wide receiver De’Anthony Thomas remained on the sidelines during Chiefs practice on Thursday.
West injured his calf and Thomas suffered concussionlike symptoms in the Chiefs’ victory at San Diego last Sunday. On Wednesday, Chiefs coach Andy Reid said he was optimistic both could play this Sunday against Buffalo at Arrowhead Stadium.

FFToday's Take: It's encouraging that Reid feels optimistic but it would be nice to see the Chiefs running back get some practice time in Friday. If West is unable to play this week, Spencer Ware would likely draw the start against the Bills with Knile Davis filling a backup role.
| Charles officially out for the season|

|MRI confirmed Jamaal Charles tore his ACL, per source. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)|
FFToday's Take: Absolutely devastating news for the Chiefs and all of Charles' fantasy owners. Kansas City will likely move on with some form of committee of Charcandrick West and Knile Davis, although both seem to have plenty of support within the Chiefs' front office. West's slashing style resembles Charles' while Davis is more of a pounder that has already shown he has the ability to carry the load. The team also plans on working out Pierre Thomas and Ben Tate.

Chiefs lose star running back
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Oct 11, 4:45 pm
|Coach Andy Reid said the preliminary report he received was that Jamaal Charles had a torn ACL. He was scheduled for an MRI on Monday. He was injured without contact, while making a cut with Kansas City facing a first-and-goal from the Chicago 9. (ESPN)|
FFToday's Take: Charles is likely done for the season. Charcandrick West has jumped ahead of Knile Davis on the depth chart and will be a hot waiver wire pickup this week.
