|A third-year wide receiver who was the darling of many fantasy football writers as a breakout candidate in 2014, Randle delivered a solid but underwhelming third season. He received a career high 127 targets and delivered 71 catches and 938 yards, but his three receiving touchdowns were disappointing considering he scored six times on 41 receptions in 2013. As opposing teams scheme to double Odell Beckham Jr. this season after his breakout rookie campaign in 2014, look for Randle to receive single coverage throughout the year. Eli Manning has been glowing about Randle this summer, telling reporters that he believes Randle can be a dominant receiver and that his maturity level has improved. With all the hype surrounding OBJ this season, Randle may be the better value as he can be had much later in drafts.
|Will Tye "becoming one of Eli's favorite targets"|
Expected to see increased action with Beckham suspended
By: Doug Orth | Thu Dec 24, 5:45 pm
|Will Tye has averaged five targets over the Giants' past five games and should be an even bigger part of the offense in Minnesota. It's possible Tye even becomes Manning's go-to receiver.
"He's doing some things well, he's progressing," offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo said. "He definitely seems like he's turning into one of Eli's favorite targets in the offense." (NJ.com)|
FFToday's Take: Tye has at least five catches in four of his last five contests, including a touchdown in each of his last two. He has registered at least eight targets twice over that same span and has been much more dependable than Rueben Randle or Dwayne Harris this season. The odds are better than 50-50 that Tye ends up being Manning's go-to guy this week.
|Giants star wideout won’t play against Vikings |
By: Jake Gordon | Wed Dec 23, 5:32 pm
|Odell Beckham’s one-game suspension was upheld, making the Giants wideout ineligible to play against the Vikings Sunday night.
"I dropped the ball on sportsmanship on Sunday," Beckham said in a statement via Twitter.
(NY Daily News)|
FFToday's Take: The game might not mean much to the Giants, but losing Odell Beckham, Jr. this week puts fantasy owners in a bind heading into semifinal matchups and championships this weekend. Eli Manning and the Giants will need Rueben Randle, Dwayne Harris and Shane Vereen to step up in the passing game. Meanwhile, Eli Manning's fantasy stock plunges downward in a bad matchup without his best receiving threat available.
|Odell Beckham Jr. suspended one game|
Gaints WR will miss Week 16
By: Mike Krueger | Mon Dec 21, 2:55 pm
|Odell Beckham Jr. has been suspended for 1 game. Official statement to follow. (NFL.com)|
FFToday's Take: Beckham repeatedly got into it with Panthers DB Josh Norman yesterday including an obvious helmet to helmet initiated by Beckham. Beckham's loss is a huge blow to fantasy owners playing for a championship next week. Rueben Randle and Dwayne Harris should see increased roles with Beckham out.
