2015 Outlook
Depth Chart
Jeffery’s sequel to his breakout 2013 was successful at the fantasy box office, as his 85-1,133-10 line was good enough for a WR1 finish in most standard leagues. He continued to show a refinement to his game, and the strong body control and point of attack skills that has kept his catch rate at 60 percent over the past two seasons. He’s built good chemistry over the last few seasons with Cutler, and he better have the trust of the gunslinger, as Jeffery slides into the No.1 receiving role for the Bears after the departure of Brandon Marshall.

With two consecutive WR1 finishes, Jeffery is no flash in the pan. It seems like a no brainer his production will increase or at the very least, stay the same now that he’s the team’s undisputed No.1 passing game option. He will fill the role of Demaryius Thomas in the Adam Gase pass offense, but I have to wonder just how effective he’ll be with most of the defensive focus on him. He’s enjoyed dominating alongside Brandon Marshall for two years, feasting on single coverage. He was solid, if not spectacular as the main man in weeks 13-17 last year when Marshall suffered a rib injury. He failed to top 75 yards, and his catch percentage actually dipped to a lackluster 41 percent. He did manage to score twice, and this is where I think Jeffery will continue to produce. While I foresee a possible dip in receptions and yards, Jeffery’s size and catch radius make him a brute in the red zone. He is a must start receiver in any format, but might linger right on the cusp of WR1 status, especially if Kevin White’s development accelerates.

Injury Alshon Jeffery placed on IR
Bears incredibly thin at WR for Week 17
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Dec 30, 11:45 am

Chicgao Bears
Is Alshon Jeffery finished as a member of the Bears? The team placed their dynamic wideout on injured reserve Wednesday alongside defensive lineman Eddie Goldman, ending their seasons just a few days before the finale against Detroit. Jeffery was poised for a big contract, and even though he only played in nine games he was still immensely productive. In about half a season, he logged 54 catches for 807 yards and four touchdowns. (NFL.com)

FFToday's Take: Jeffery battled numerous injuries which limited to nine games on the field in 2015. Without a true No.1 replacement, it's likely the Bears will try to keep Jeffery and pair him with rookie Kevin White (stress fracture) in 2016.

Injury Alshon Jeffery misses practice Wednesday
Hamstring the latest issue for Bears WR
By: Mike Krueger | Wed Dec 23, 1:10 pm

Chicgao Bears
#Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (hamstring) did not practice on Wednesday. (Jeff Dickerson on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Jeffery has been bothered by hamstring, calf, shoulder and groin issues this season. At this point it will be tough for fantasy owners to trust the talented wideout even if he does suit up against the Bucs this week.

Injury Alshon Jeffery expected to play
Listed as Questionable
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Dec 20, 7:10 am

Chicgao Bears
#Bears WR Alshon Jeffery, questionable with a calf injury & an illness, is expected to play today vs. the #Vikings, source said. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Jeffery missed practice this week and while he's going to play, the risk of re-injuring his calf should be a concern for fantasy owners but not enough to keep him on your bench. Jeffery posted a 10-116-1 line the last time he faced Minnesota.

Injury Alshon Jeffery practices Friday, questionable
Illness, calf injury
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Dec 18, 12:45 pm

Chicgao Bears
Alshon Jeffery, Zach Miller and Pernell McPhee are questionable to face #Vikings on Sunday. Jeffery returned to practice on Friday. (Jeff Dickerson on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Jeffery battled an illness earlier in the week but is expected to play. The Vikings are middle of the pack in terms of fantasy points allowed to wide receivers but have given up a TD to a wide receiver in the last four games.

Injury Jeffery sits out practice Thursday
Dealing with Illness in addition to calf strain
By: Doug Orth | Thu Dec 17, 5:00 pm

Chicgao Bears
Bears WR Alshon Jeffery (illness/calf) did not participate in practice. HC John Fox indicates the illness is what kept him out. (Rich Campbell on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Jeffery has been lucky to go back-to-back weeks this season without some kind of malady. He was limited in practice by the calf on Wednesday. Either way, the fourth-year wideout has seen nine or more targets in seven of the eight games he has played and posted a 10-116-1 line against Minnesota in Week 8 and appears likely to play this week despite his issues. The combination of targets and talent make him a solid fantasy WR1 in this week's rematch against the Vikings.

Injury Jeffery, Forte inactive for Bears
Out for Week 11
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Nov 22, 11:30 am

Chicgao Bears
Bears without Matt Forte, Alshon Jeffery, Eddie Royal and Antrel Rolle today. (Brad Biggs on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: We knew Jeffery (shoulder, groin) was a long shot to play. Forte took the field, doing warmup drills but will sit another week. Jeremy Langford is locked in as the starter.

Injury Alshon Jeffery not expected to play
Missed practice Thursday and Friday
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Nov 22, 7:30 am

Chicgao Bears
Bears WR Alshon Jeffery, who missed the final two practices of the week with groin and shoulder injuries, not expected to play vs. Broncos (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Jeffery missed practice Thursday and Friday which is never a good sign for availability on Sunday. With Jeffery down, Marquess Wilson becomes the top Bears wideout. Expect Marc Mariani too see more snaps and Martellus Bennett to see more targets.

Injury Alshon Jeffery misses practice Friday
Groin and shoulder injuries
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 20, 1:10 pm

Chicgao Bears
Alshon Jeffery did not practice Friday, leaving the Chicago Bears with the prospect of facing the NFL’s top-ranked defense on Sunday without their No. 1 receiver. Jeffery is hobbled by a groin injury he suffered during practice on Nov. 11, and he also has a banged-up shoulder. (Chicago Tribune)

FFToday's Take: Jeffery didn't play a full complement of snaps last week and missing a Friday practice is never a good sign for availability on Sunday. There's a good chance he ends up on the Inactive list. Jeffery owners should have plan B in place.

Injury Forte, Jeffery miss practice on Thursday
MCL, groin injuries
By: Doug Orth | Thu Nov 19, 5:50 pm

Chicgao Bears
One day after both were limited participants, RB Matt Forte and WR Alshon Jeffery did not participate Thursday. Forte has a sprained MCL in his knee and Jeffery a groin problem. One contributing factor to Thursday’s status was the fact the Bears practiced indoors and on artificial turf, which is traditionally tough on those injuries. Jeffery — who the team said also has a shoulder injury — played Sunday, though he caught only three passes. Forte has missed the past two games since hurting his knee at home against the Vikings. (Chicago Sun-Times)

FFToday's Take: Forte has already suggested that he has to consider the Bears will be playing on a short week next week, which is a strong hint that he will miss this week against the Broncos and try to go on Thanksgiving. As for Jeffery, Friday's practice report will be critical. If he is forced to miss time, Marquess Wilson and Martellus Bennett figure to be on the receiving end of a lot of targets in Week 11.

Injury Alshon Jeffery expected to play
Was limited in practice Friday
By: Mike Krueger | Sun Nov 15, 7:30 am

Chicgao Bears
Bears WR Alshon Jeffery expected to play today despite groin injury; RB Matt Forte not expected to play due to knee injury, per sources. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Jeffery injured himself late in Wednesday's practice, missed Thursday and was limited on Friday. He's got a tough matchup against the Rams defense but is still worthy of your fantasy lineup. Jeremy Langford should once again lead the Bears running game.

Injury Forte, Jeffery listed as questionable
Jeffery was limited Friday
By: Mike Krueger | Fri Nov 13, 1:20 pm

Chicgao Bears
Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery hurt his groin and it was enough to keep him from working with the team on Thursday. Jeffery got back on the field as a limited participant on Friday, however, and has been listed as questionable to play against the Rams this Sunday. Running back Matt Forte has also been listed as questionable after a week of limited practices. (ProFootballTalk)

FFToday's Take: Owners of both Bears will want to check inactives on Sunday morning. It sounds like Jeffery is the more likely to play although both will have a difficult matchup against the Rams defense. St. Louis gives up the fourth fewest fantasy points to wide receivers.

Injury Alshon Jeffery tweaks groin in practice
Missed practice Thursday
By: Mike Krueger | Thu Nov 12, 1:30 pm

Chicgao Bears
Bears coach John Fox said WR Alshon Jeffery tweaked his groin in practice Wednesday and is day-to-day. (Chicago Bears on Twitter)

FFToday's Take: Jeffery did not practice Thursday. We'll have to wait and see if he's able to practice Friday before we know his availability for Sunday. Eddie Royal (knee) missed practice Thursday as well.
